The Department of Research and Records is currently hiring one Historian.
The role of Historian is a non-rotating staff position in the Department of Reseach and Records responsible for documenting the history of the Tower's real world and web activites and maintaining all site-related portions of TarValon.Net's Library. The Tower Historian works as part of a pair and reports directly to the Director of Research and Records.
Time served as Tower Historian counts towards the Staff Merit.

The time commitment for this position can vary week to week, but the successful applicant should be willing to spend a minimum of 2 hours per week on this position.

Duties and responsibilities of a Tower Historian include, but are not limited to:
- Keeping individual member pages up to date in regards to bondings, raisings, positions, etc.
- Keeping Departmental pages updated every time there is a change
- Making sure the history of the Tower is well-documented, including past happenings at the Tower and any changes in structure
- Communicates with Department heads or people assigned by them to make sure all pages relevant to the TarValon.Net pages are adequately maintained
Qualifications
- Must be a member in good standing
- Must know wiki formatting or be willing to learn
- Familiarity with the bylaws, chain of command, and administrative structure is very helpful
- Senior Membership is not required
