Marketing is in need! We are down to 2 designers...and we have a ton of stuff coming down the pipe in 2018 that would really benefit from a touch of beauty.

The Graphics Development Team (GDT) is responsible for any and all official visual assets used on or in conjunction with TarValon.Net. This includes: logos, icons, web (UI/UX) design, printed collateral such as posters and business cards, banners, graphics, illustrations, memes, and whatever else seems good. There will be many changes in the coming year; the GDT will be instrumental in ensuring our success!

Acceptable formats include: personal website, DeviantArt, Behance, Coroflot, Photobucket, PDF collection, or even just a selection of your work zipped up and attached to your application. This is a six month staff position within the Department of Marketing; once the term is complete staff members can choose to remain on board or move on as they desire.
Who's your boss?
The GDT reports to the Director of Marketing, but will work closely with both the Social Marketing Manager and the TVT Editor
Merits:
People in this position are eligible to earn the Staff and Pro Bono Merit Badges (but not simultaneously).

- Create and update official visual assets for use on or about TarValon.Net
- Work with the Social Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing to develop graphics and collateral for external marketing efforts
- Work as a team to problem solve, brainstorm, and think forward about what the Tower needs
Qualifications
- Be a member in good standing; rank is no bar to my call
- Some experience with graphic design, web design, typography, or any other form of visual art (or willingness and ability to learn)
- Access to graphic design software (Photoshop and Illustrator are the two mainstays, but alternatives can be considered; contact me privately.)
- Access to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are pluses, but not required.
- Ability to work with a team
- Ability to meet a deadline
Other reasons you should apply for this team
- You have experience with developing and maintaining a visual brand identity
- Your design skills may be rudimentary, but your meme game is strong.
- You want your work to represent our community in our cafepress shop, at cons, on social media, and anywhere else we may wish to establish a presence (PS: This is fantastic portfolio work)
- You're an animator or videographer and have ideas for how to use your skills to market our community.
