Thank you Atane for your leadership of VC these last 18 months! It is time to hire our next CC.
The Company Commander is the membership administrator for all Gaiden of the Company. The CC watches over them, guides them, deals with administrative issues with them, keeps track of them, maintains decorum in company spaces, and settles any disputes while encouraging them to remain active and involved in the Community at large.
What we want in a Company Commander:
We want you to have a voice. We want you to work together with the other Membership Admins as a team for the good of the people you represent and the Tower as a whole. We want to give you the power to solve problems, feel comfortable asking each other for help, and have the confidence of knowing we're here to back you up, give you advice, be an ear to listen, or whatever else you need us to be.
What we need from you is to care about your people, help take care of them, be present, follow guidelines of the community, care about the Tower as a whole, and have fun.
Duties:
-Facilitate the guesting experience of all Accepted and Soldiers, both those visiting as well as those who have chosen to aspire to the Company
-Decide when an Accepted or Soldier is ready for raising to become a full member of the Company
-Keep your portion of the Membership Spreadsheet up to date
-Maintain contact information for the members of the Company
-Update the Who's Who for members of the Company by emailing archivist@tarvalon.net, or delegate as needed
-Selecting in-Company positions and Warders for the Hall
-Any duties related to the Company that have not been listed specifically
Requirements:
-Must be an Gaiden of VC for at least 6 months and in the Community
-Must be able to dedicate at least 5-10 hours per week to the position though this number varies depending on what's going on at the time
-Must be organized, active, and have strong leadership and team-building skills
-Must be knowledgeable about our Bylaws, the Membership Manual, the administrative structure, and how our Community operates
-Must be willing to opt into the Community Feedback forum for at least the duration of their term to keep the Ajah up to date on what may be changing and what is being discussed
-Must be willing to commit to/participate in a 2-3 hour training/onboarding session.
-Some other staff roles may preclude one from serving in this position.
