Yay, another Tamora Pierce fan~ which series of hers is your favorite? I personally have a strong attachment to the Song of the Lioness quartet and I also really enjoyed the Beka Cooper books, but I love them all.

Song of the Lioness for sure and I also liked Protector of the Small. When I was first reading them as a teen, the idea of female knights was the best thing ever! They are very dear to me.

If you ever want to practice your Japanese, I may not be super great with kanji and I know I'm a bit rusty just because I've been out of the classroom for a few years, but I'd be happy to practice with you!

As far as anime favorites, it's so hard to choose because there are so many that I like, but I guess I'd say my favorite is Durarara! Some others that I really like include Kuroshitsuji, FMA (and FMA:B), Steins;Gate, and How to Keep a Mummy (it was adorable and that along with Laid Back Camp were the best things ever after a long work day when they were coming out). I also used to run a small fansite for Tokyo Mew Mew, of all things. I tend towards anime that have some sort of magic/sci-fi element, or that are slice of life, or both. What anime is/are your favorite(s)?

Great, thanks!

My favourites also include Steins;Gate and FMA. I also like Cowboy Bebop, Fate/Zero, Noragami and many others. Durarara! was great too! It's difficuly to pick one or two. I also do enjoy the magic and sci-fi elements in the anime. Same applies to books :)

I loved FMA and Cowboy Bebop! I liked Ghost in the Shell: SAC too, Strelok. Others: Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Read or Die (OVA). I had a bit of a crush on Yomiko Readman  I think I saw about half of Chrono Crusade, and enjoyed that as well. And Inuyasha (so sue me :cheeseeni:).

Oooooooh I love the Fate series! I've only really watched Fate: Zero and Fate: Stay/Night, but I loved them both and need to take some time to watch more. And Noragami is also great. And I liked the music in Cowboy Bebop a lot.

(Again: I've watched and love WAY too many anime, so my list of favorites is nowhere near complete.)

I never watched Ghost in the Shell: SAC or Initial-D... well, I think I watched part of an episode of Ghost in the Shell once, but it was crazy late at night and I fell asleep during it. I should probably try watching it again...

Jarl, you should finish Chrono Crusade - there's not that much of it! And there's nothing wrong with liking Inuyasha. It's fun.

I'm not a huge anime fan, but I have enjoyed most that I've seen. But I've encountered a few anime fans who don't like Inuyasha and think it's dumb. I liked it and I don't care who knows! :p

Welcome to TarValon.net! :D

What edition of D&D are you running? I actually play Pathfinder on a weekly basis now, although I did start back with 3.5 and have tried 5E a couple of times.

Thank you! I'm running 5E, but I played Pathfinder in college. I'm mostly liking the fact that 5E is a bit simpler and therefore easier to manage, but sometimes I do miss the complexity/variety of Pathfinder. Mostly I miss having the variety of knowledge skill checks - it can be really hard to categorize what it is the players are asking about into one of only four categories!

What kind of a character do you play?

My two main characters are currently an archer (Fighter 4/Monk-Zen Archer 1) and a meat shield (Fighter 3) who has crazy AC. I also just built a telekinetecist to sling rocks around and heal people. I find I like ranged combat best.

I know you said you're running a game, but are you playing in any? If not, what type of character(s) do you normally play?

Cool! I think I'm the opposite, though. I tend to prefer getting up in the thick of things... even though I also really like casting spells...

Unfortunately I'm not playing in any games right now. Finding someone else to DM (and finding time for a group to get together) is really hard! Especially since I'd much prefer to play D&D in person, rather than on roll20 or anything similar.

In college, I played two gnomes - one a paladin who got herself almost killed by being critted by a tree, the other a druid with an ostrich companion named Catullus who was smart enough to understand common and would recite (dirty) poems. I also have made a number of NPCs with some class levels (specifically I've made a ton of clerics because the plot involved a cult). I think my favorite in combat so far is the tempest cleric, who just runs up into the middle of everything and hits as much as she can with thunderwave.

Welcome to TarValon.Net, Cinna! I'm glad you're here, even if Roh did force you at spearpoint. :P

Not quite at spearpoint, Mother, but near enough I suppose. I do think she's right that I needed to join though - I'm just slow to join social circles that are new to me but long established to everyone else. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Aaahh so many people. Thanks so much everybody!

Her infection certainly is still spreading, although I wouldn't say I'm one of the newly infected, exactly. The disease has just progressed to the next stage, I guess?

I don't think Faile's the reason Perrin fell out of my first place spot... I think Mat becoming the dice man might be, though, lol. Also most interactions between him and Tuon are gold in my book.

I will do my best to get my first 25 posts made... I'm sure Roh will poke me about it if it takes too long.

I would love to cat. Here's one!

I would also chat...
But isn't that the same thing in French? I'm sorry, I'll stop now. I just. Caaaaaaaaats.

*is tackle hugged*

I'm still working on my first 25 posts, since 2013. gg life.

Welcome btw :pleased-1:
