Welcome to TarValon.Net! :D

I actually have a WOT-related sekrit project I'm hoping I might be able to get some assistance with -- purely a fan endeavor; nothing official -- but I suspect I ought to wait until I've been around long enough to get citizen status before I launch into that.
This whole site is a purely fan endeavor full of people who will gladly hop on board when you're comfortable sharing it.

whoever it was gave me a lovely little care package of some candy and the Tarvalon.net cookbook
Have you had a chance to make anything from the cookbook yet? I have one of those, but ended up moving shortly after its acquisition, so it's... somewhere in a box.

Welcome to TarValon! I think Serinia was the one who invited you here (or one of maybe, but she mentioned it). She’s off Amyrlin-ing somewhere I’m sure. I’m very sad I couldn’t make JCon, but ya know *gestures vaguely at everything*

What is your favorite book in the series?

Hmmmm, that's challenging! I know that when I did my re-read for the end of the series (and was looking at the story very much with a writer's eye), it felt to me like The Shadow Rising was the point at which the growing complexity was most feature, least bug, if that makes sense -- there was so much stuff going on in it, but the pacing hadn't yet started to go all woppy-jawed as a result. I also have fond memories of A Crown of Swords, because that book was the one I waited the exact right amount of time for: just long enough to get excited, not so long as to become impatient.

Welcome to TarValon.Net! :D

It's less "comfort" and more "I suspect there's a proper board to post it on, but I can't see that one yet." :-)

Not yet, no! I've slacked off on cooking the last couple of months -- too busy with other things. I flipped through it, though, and definitely want to try a few of the recipes, like the sesame tofu with broccoli and the butternut squash rotini (though sadly, my husband is allergic to squash).

. . . that might be right? I honestly won't know unless the person herself shows up here to say "it was me!" (at which point I will abjectly apologize for forgetting). A whooooole lotta names came and went that weekend, and only had half a face attached to them to help me remember. :-p

Oh right. I don't actually know what "visitors" (pre-Citizens) can see. Unless it's the same stuff you can see without an account, which I was able to find with an incognito window, and there is an abundance of forums you can't see at that point.

I think it's a bit more than no account at all gets (from my vague memory of glancing at the forum before I got approved), but I get the distinct impression that there's more to the site, yeah. It's fine, I'm happy to wait!

Welcome! You don't have to wait long, just 6 more posts and an email to the mayor and you'll be set :)

Thank you all! It's already feeling both fun and familiar, having a WOT fan community to interact with again . . .

Okay, so when I initially signed up, I didn't realize the whole arrangement around WOT-style names on the forum. So here I am with a shiny new name!

Thank you! I confess to mucking around with different root words from the Old Tongue to make it. :-)
