Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ingrid and I discovered TarValon.Net while searching for more information about JordanCon, which I will be attending for the first time this year! I read the WOT series around a decade or so ago and finished when the last book was published (2013?) I am now rereading in anticipation of April's event. I'm in book 10! Choosing favorite characters is difficult because I feel all of their personalities and goals make the story what it is. I do have favorite groups, however, and at the top of that list is the Far Dareis Mai. I get them. I don't really have a place I consider home because I have moved all over the US. I grew up in Massachusetts, lived for some time in Arizona, and now live in Minnesota. I love to wander to new places and I teach English online (high school and ELL's in China). I even have a bus under renovation in MA so I can live on the road for longer stretches. In my spare time I run (less than I used to after an unfortunate knee surgery a year ago), read, lift weights, read, travel the nation and world, and read some more. I don't own a television... or a microwave. For some reason that shocks people. I'm not married and have lived happily single for 14 years. I raised two boys (now men) and have 2 dogs: an old lady lab and a husky who loves to pull a sled across our frozen lakes. Finally, between readings of WOT, I have been deep in the works of Brandon Sanderson. The next book in the Stormlight Archive comes out this year and I'm super excited! I look forward to getting to know everyone!

May I ask whereabouts in Minnesota you live? My mom's side of the family is from Minnesota. :)

Ok, cool! My mom's family is from Duluth, so we used to go up there quite a bit when I was young.

Can't say I have ever visited the Green Giant Statute, though I have visited the giant fish statute. :lol

How do you like MN, compared to the other places you have lived?

I grew up in MN, south of the Twin Cities, around the Apply Valley and Burnsville area. :beer
Moved away in my mid teens, but still have a handful of aunts, uncles and cousins around there.

I've also lived in northern WI, and been to Duluth many times.
Idine, do you mean this fish:

    :lol

I have a vague memory of walking through that thing when I was 10 or so, inside was basically a museum to fishing.
Never really hooked me, and I'm usually dumbfounded when I meet folks aware of it, but it does give me a chuckle when someone brings it up. :cheese

OMG, I’ve been there! Didn’t even remember until now, as I was probably around the same age you were, but I’ve definitely been inside that musky’s mouth. :lol
