:welcome I'm also a Melanie Rawn fan - I've actually been wanting to go back and reread that series for a while now!

I hope you're finding how everyone here is friendly and welcoming and you're getting to know your way around. :D

Welcome! You may recognize my name from the Black Tower, I'm also Roheryn there.

I love anything Weis and Hickman! Rose of the Prophet is up there, but I don't think I like it quite as much as I like their Deathgate Cycle!

And please, don't try to use my whole name, Roh (or Roh Sedai as appropriate to JMs) is sufficient. Otherwise it's a mouthful, or a handful as the case may be...

Welcome to Tar Valon! :D

I've read the membership manual and some of the other material (I LOVE the library!)

Very, very welcome to Tar Valon. :D I'll just agree with everyone else on the excellence of your introduction, and I hope you'll enjoy it here!

I remember Being very overwhelmed by the size of this site, but everyone is soooo friendly, as you can see from this thread, and you are never made to feel uncomfortable when you jump into a conversation. You will make friends here :pleased-1:

Where do you live?

I LOVE Georgette Heyer! her characters are brilliant! I've not read any of her crime novels yet but I've borrowed a few to read :D

Hi again -

And thanks to those who have been so welcoming as I dip my toes in the White Tower. It is an overwhelming site, but I'm starting to post comments here and there. I have a question - are there any limitations on reviving old threads, or re-introducing topics? I read a lot, but I'm finding more and more that I dislike new fantasy literature and am reading more old books; so what seems 'new' to me is probably 'old' to many others.

Maibella Rhoiden - I read most of the Melanie Rawn series between WoT books; I found them very complementary to each other, which was fabulous. I thought she's written a really interesting world and I'm sorry her series didn't go further.

Roh - *waves enthusiastically*; great to see you here, too :D

Eliza al'Shaw - I live in Manchester, although I was based in Charlestown, St Austell for most of my sailing career. Devon is so gorgeous! And it's fabulous to meet another Georgette Heyer fan; I'm not into romance at all, but I find her characters feel so real and her historical accuracy is so far unsurpassed IMHO :)

I don't know the stance on necro posting on the other parts of the site, but the Non-WoT Literature and Fiction subforum seems to be fine with it anyway, according to its rules. If there's a thread for the book or series or author already, go ahead and post in it (there's a sticky with collected popular authors which you've probably seen already). If there isn't one, just create it. :pleased-1:

Well met to a fellow sailor. I am Navy myself. Just to help you out, when you are replying to peoples comments, you will notice a "Reply with Quote" button in their post. Next to it is a quote with a plus sign. If you click on the plus sign, then click each post you want to reply to, click "Reply with quote" on the last one and you will get a nifty quote block in your quick reply box. Then you can respond under each comment and it makes it easier to keep track of all your replies.

Other than that, feel free to ask any questions and I would be glad to help you out in any way I can!
