Hello! Happy to be here. I'm a new recruit to the White Tower, having chatted with a good friend, Meirah, who has been here for a while, about our mutual love for the books.
I just started reading last year--I got the first three books for Christmas, as I wanted something dense and enchanting to distract me from current events. I also needed something else to read besides doom scrolling all the time. :facepalm I'm currently about halfway through The Fires of Heaven. I can't say I have a favorite so far--they all seem to have high and low points, and there will be days where it feels like a slog to read through even a chapter, and other days where I can't put the book down. I'll find things are going kind of quietly and somewhat normal, with lots of dialog and description, and then BAM! Some character or event comes out of nowhere and everything changes instantly. Like Nynaeve discovering Moghedian in the Panarch's Palace, or Rand chasing Asmodean through the portal at Al'cair Dal. Those are actually my favorite moments so far. Maybe I'm just an adrenaline junkie.
When not reading, I am taking care of my family, which includes 1 husband, 1 daughter and 2 standard poodles. I work part-time for myself as a writer and designer of alternate reality games (ARGs). I have a love/hate relationship with gardening, and I'd rather be on the couch with a dog on my lap watching a good movie/TV show or playing Animal Crossing. Everything else is variable with my mood.
