So I moseyed around Tar Valon a few years ago but never really made an account.. then someone in Hogwarts Running Club said I NEEDED to come here.. so I made an account and promptly got seriously busy with work stuff as our Comms person quit.... and then I went to Jordan Con....
Um. Wow. The BEST CON EVER. Seriously. So here I am to bask in the glory that is Tar Valon!
So a bit about me.... I'm married with no kids but I have an awesome niece that is my little bff and future Novice.... Husband is awesome but hasn't read the books yet...
I'm Membership Director for a non-profit that does geeky themed virtual races for charity! Since 2014 we've donated $2 million to 40 different direct impact non-profits around the world. I help oversee about 130 admins and 20k plus active members across three clubs. I could go on for hours talking about how amazing the community in our clubs is but let's talk Wheel of Time instead!
I was introduced to the books around 2009 by my near sister. I was blown away and burned through the books that were available at the time. Then we found Jordan Con but were sadly never able to attend. This year was my first year and while my near sister was not able to attend as she has recently married and moved to Wisconsin. Since then I introduced my other friend, one of the very few geeks in my area and she is working her way through the books. She attended JCon with me this year. We were two Wilder sisters in green and we were blown away by the amazing welcome and family feel of everyone. We are already making plans for next year.. and the next.. and the next!
