I remain cautiously interested. Too many things get over hyped and under delivered these days.

He said it's so big that he told Matt ten years ago, because he knew he would need backup someday because people won't believe him when he announces it. Sounds pretty big to me, but you would have to listen to podcast to know that.

Sanderson also tends to deliver on his promises let's be honest.
Maybe it's my anti-Sanderson bias, but I found his Nakomi reveal to be a bit...:grumble:
Even so, I remain cautiously hyped for this.

Haven't read the book yet so had to look this up. Yeah, agreed! I still like Sanderson though

I like Sanderson mainly because he has a lot of interesting magic systems. Even though they aren't perfect, I just find them to be creative. I still like Wheel of Time's magic system the best.

I am only one book into the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks, but his magic system based on color MIGHT take first spot, but I haven't decided yet, its a five book series, so we will see, it will either be in my top 2 or 3 or on my bottom based on how the future books go.

That's totally fair. His magic systems are great. The magic system in Mistborn is still one of my favorites. And, for all that I struggled with a lot of the writing, plot, and characters in Warbreaker, I did greatly enjoy the magic in that as well. His writing isn't my favorite, but I will give him many points for creativity in terms of cool world building and magic!

I have to say, I am rather surprised how uninterested a Wheel of Time fan site is in a Wheel of Time secret that has been kept by Harriet and Brandon for ten years... I just thought there would be more interest or comments here. Strange.

@Dianna Melear Am I missing something? Why are only a few of you interested...

Wow!! This is crazy news! It makes me wonder what happens after the books.

Don't know about everyone else, but I was quite satisfied with how the series ended. I'm curious about how the wheel turned after the last battle, but recognize that that is a new story. And a new beginning. So I don't need reveals, retcons, updates, or add-ons.
And as a Star Wars fan, sometimes you just get tired of folks stretching things out. Like not enough butter on too much bread. It looses something after a while.
Now if these reveals were added into the TV show, I might feel differently. Dunno, it didn't catch my attention the way it might have for some.

I feel the same as @Aylward Leamh to be honest.

Plus, I feel like if something is hyped up as being "OMG, we had to keep this a secret for over a decade!!" level of information, it needs to be something that completely changes how the books are read (& I'd be very surprised if there's any information left that would fall into that category), not just a "Okay, good to know, I guess?" kinda thing.

Yeah, that all makes sense. I never looked at it that way before.

I don't like the fact that Lanfear is alive. It takes away one of the main things that Perrin does in the Last Battle, and is totally unnecessary. I honestly wished they had killed of Moghedien as well.

To be honest, I feel like secret reveals after series conclusions have always been...meh. And, there's a certain author that likes to make them way too often... Even before she started throwing them out ridiculously often, I've felt this way, and now that she's at this level, whenever authors do this, I just kind go, "Ya couldn't have let fans make their own conclusions?"

And like with this one, it's like...I found out about it through memes.

It is part of canon, according to Robert Jordan's notes that Lanfear is second most powerful person there is second only to Rand, and manipulating Perrin is/was part of the canon from what I understand (I watched the entire podcast)

If you watched the entire podcast as I did, Brandon Sanderson actually references Rowling by name and explains how this is nothing like that and he has evidence to back it up.
