Is anyone else having issues with the buttons to format replies? Any time I click one, it inserts the format brackets twice:
[SPOILER ][SPOILER ][ /SPOILER][ /SPOILER] without spaces. Also, I tried to put that in code brackets and it didn't show up at all.

Additionally, I can't use any of the pull down buttons, like to change color, font, or size. It just does nothing when I click on them. I know I can hand format all of them, but it's easier to click something.

It's working for me on Windows 7, with Chrome. I think tech will be able to help you better if you tell them your browser info. :)

This has turned out to be a RL-busy-weekend for Tech, but we will definitely jump on this as soon as we can. :)

Regular Windows 8, not 8.1?

Version 35.0.1916.153 m as well. I'm wondering if it's a problem with my mouse somehow clicking on things twice and I just haven't noticed it elsewhere.

If you hit the windows key then type in 'control panel' then open the 'mouse' icon there is a little folder to test clicking on.

No problems there, it required an actual double click. So maybe it's not my mouse!

If it helps, there's about a second pause before the second tag appears. If no one can figure it out, it's not a huge deal. I can use the pull down options again. Just some extra deleting for me. It's just weird.

Have you cleared your history / cache ( incognito mode might do the same thing)..

Yeah, I actually cleared my cache right before the problem started.

Are you using Chrome in desktop or Windows Metro UI mode? Can you try another browser?

Mendo messaged me about that. I'm using it in desktop, I didn't have the same problem with IE so it is a Chrome issue. I've also been having Chrome tell me that it's shut down incorrectly (despite the fact that I always close it properly) every time I open it, so I'm not quite sure what's going on with it in general.

I was going to suggest maybe it's your mouse, because I have been having those sorts of problems, but I have them everywhere, so if you only see it here, it's probably not your mouse.
If you think it's a Chrome issue, could you try uninstalling and reinstalling it? If you have a google account, all your bookmarks and things should be saved, but you'll have to reinstall any extensions you have.

Cache/etc was going to be what I suggested. If you've already done that already, the next thing I'd suggest would be reinstall Chrome, though that seems a bit extreme :look:

First, can you verify what version of the editor you're using? (Full/Standard/Simple) And if you're doing this in the quick reply or "go advanced" box?

I may have myself or someone else in Tech do some remote assistance troubleshooting with you over Hangout, if we need to (and you want to).

Standard, have issues in both quick reply and advanced. Reinstall didn't fix the issue.

I mean, it's not really a huge problem. It's more an annoyance than anything else.

Yeah, pretty much. At this point it's more just bugging me that I can't figure it out than the actual problem.

That is odd. <.< well give up and reinstall the OS.

Linux is nice..

Joking!

So a reinstall of chrome didn't help. Same thing happen in incognito mode?
Normally the extensions aren't running in that mode and it might tell us if its something thats been added to chrome thats conflicting.
