Which death threw you for a loop? Shocked the hell out of you? Broke your heart? Which death did you cheer? Which did you secretly wish for and then was sad when it never came?

So many of the deaths threw me for a loop as I read them last night. Egewene, Suian, Rurac to name some.
Brigette shocked the hell out of me. Although like Suian the subtle forshadowing right before the event should have tipped me off. Suain giving a moving speech to Egewene, Brigette forgetting everything about her past entirely. But Brigette's death made me go "NO. NOOOO."
Egewene's death broke my heart because she was so angry, upset, hurt and thats why she was able to do what she did. It was brilliant, but it just made me so damn sad.
I was happy Gawyn died. What a moron, that one. I think we all know the reasons, but from what he was when we first met him, to what he was when he died, the character he became sucked and his own stupidity that was left unchecked by anyone who cared for him, killed him. Shame, that.

I was more shocked that Bela was still around than I was that she died. Probably because Hedwig died, so it wasn't out of left field for me.

Birgitte's death was the most shocking to me because I really didn't see it coming -- at least, not at that point (with Egwene, you had an inkling that something epic was gonna happen for a couple of pages). I was walking home and reading, and I"m really glad I wasn't crossing a street because I completely halted in my tracks to reread the paragraph twice.

I thought through the whole book that Birgitte would die, as to me it seemed likely that she would be respun into the Pattern and then come back with horn, but when it actually happened I was really shocked! It still took me by surprise, I think because of how sudden and brutal it was.

I was very sad when Siuan died, I always had a soft spot for her.

But yeah Egwene was the big one for me. Mostly because she'd always been held up as an important character that the world really needed, so I just assumed she'd survive! She was also my favourite character so I guess I wasn't willing to believe they'd kill her lol. I still feel shocked about it though, and upset. Bloody Gawyn, I only felt upset when he died on Egween's behalf, otherwise I was pleased. In the last couple of books he was behaving so badly. A spoilt, selfish brat.

I was sad Bela died. Couldn't they have let her go home to the Two Rivers to live out the rest of her life? That would have been nice.

Bela was fifth business, consequentially I didn't really think much of it when she died. I was surprised that they killed Egwene. I don't think any of the deaths really made me sad in any way.

I was less upset that Rhuarc died than I was at his falling to Compulsion. That almost made me throw my book into a wall. A bit weird, I know.

I think what upset me the most about Rhuarc's death is that it wasn't honorable, so he gained no Ji when he woke from the dream. Obviously, he had no choice in the matter but thats the way my mind worked it. Just now ha.

Rhuarc's death I saw coming after he fell to compulsion, but the fact that such a strong willed man fell pissed me off- which is exactly what I imagine it was supposed to do. For a moment, I railed against the shadow. For a moment, I felt that strong, strong hatred of the DO and all he had done to the world.

In most of the other deaths, I felt pride. They were good deaths, deaths against the Shadow, deaths that made the fight winnable. Deaths that meant something.

Rhuarc's death just hurt.

I was so thankful she lived. They've had no peaceful time together, not really. They deserve it. They deserve their little babies and Two Rivers and being wonderful together. Yes.

There is something about her that I have not liked since she was first introduced to us. I never liked how she treated Perrin, how she went behind his back on so many things. I know in the end she is good for him, but I wished he had chosen someone else.

I think considering how he "Holds back" as it was so lovingly pointed out in this book, he needs someone who can control him if he decides to let go and lose his temper. Faile is the perfect match for him. I didn't like her in the start, when we first met her. Childish, manipulative, etc. But now she's exactly what he needs. And to be fair, the way she does things isn't just her fault, its how she was taught, its what her people believe (I think.)

Most of what Faile does is cultural, now. She grew out of the rest.

Likely the same, for tradition- the Amyrlin should still watch the seal on the bore, the Flame of Tar Valon is a weave that has been rediscovered, and the Amyrlin Seat still exists.

None of the deaths didn't supriseme since I was expecting basicly anyone to die (except Rand & 3 girls). And was kinda dissapointed that not many notable character died - and I don't count Bela as one. Like Talmanes, Amys, Cadsuane, Vanin and many more that survived.
