I am volunteering at one of our women's shelters locally on February 23 to serve dinner to those who have chosen to remove themselves from abusive relationships and restart their lives.

I would like to invite everyone who wants to serve others to sign up with a local shelter to serve a meal with me on this day.

We don't have to be in the same place to serve together.

This is so cool Liadan! I work with this community daily. I do eligibility for DHHS programs, so people make us one of their first stops when they're leaving an abusive situation with nothing but the clothes on their back. It's one of the reasons I really like my job, I know that we make people's lives better in a tangible, measurable way, every day.

I Love that you do this. The community of women are such an inspiration to me, and one I admire very much. My mother left my father and an abusive relationship with us. Without letting her children know they were living without a home and living in a campground. We spent that summer thinking it was the best summer vacation ever. Due to people helping my mom find an apartment it wasn't until we were much older we found out that it wasn't just a summer vacation. I try to do what I can to pay it forward to others like my mom in honor of those who helped my family.

That's an incredible story. <3 I admire your mom already.
