This is Aldus:
Now normally I give the new Soldiers a hard time in these posts. It's something of a tradition. However, it is hard to be mean to Aldus. He's hard working, generally nice to everyone, a good husband (and word on the street is that he's even a passable father), and is just earnest about not only being part of the Tower but actually making any part of it that he touches better.
So yeah. It's true. He's a nerd.
But nerds are people too! I mean, sure, most of the senior member ladies are all way too cool for such types. What with their fancy titles, and sexy clothes, and unlimited raw access to the One Power!
But it is important to know that many of the finest gaidin were once no better than Aldus.

Just look at that, chain mail? How horrifying.
So yes, ladies, don't dismiss Aldus because he's a nerd now.
Just imagine how his time as a Soldier will change him, and make him into a Gaidin as glorious as the rest of us.
