Okay almost release
Looking forward to wrapping up the series and getting some answers
Agh, I went to Amazon pre-order page about one hour ago. I have the series on pause at the moment because I am reading Warrior of Altaii since it is a short read. Well anyways, was going to get this order in for book 4 and 5, and on Amazon order page for book 5 it has 2 lines you can read under the "shipped and sold by amazon" spot. I had no intention of reading it, just it's kind of shoved in your face, and it was a HUGE SPOILER.... ugh... I am only halfway through book 1... think I am going to just skip this series now, really bummed out. I can't get that spoiler out of my head, I just keep saying it over and over, so I know I won't forget it. Really frustrated. I decided not to order book 4 and 5 now though, maybe I will get back to this series next year. I think I am going to start up the Licanius Trilogy after Warrior of Altaii now...
You’re over reacting.
The spoilers are less relevant than you think.
Go finish Book 1. It really is worth it.
ok I will give it a shot. just bummed out is all. bah
I looked all over the amazon page and no spoiler is bigger than revelations you’ll find in the books.
Only trivial stuff. You’re good to go.
Ok, I was overreacting, just was frustrated cause it was still fresh lol
Warrior of Altaii by Robert Jordan will be finished tonight... then I will begin where I left off on Lightbringer tomorrow.
Also, is that a real picture of you in your signature? If so, my god that beard is amazing! lol My beard grows very odd, so I just shave it.
also, about every three days I am drinking a ginger beer that is made and imported from Australia. it is called Bundaberg or something, it's amazing. non-alcoholic, can see the ginger floating around in it too, quite healthy for you.
Actually I’ve a similar beard, just not as handsome.
Fun idea to make a sig with myself in it though, haven’t had one of them in years.
Bundaberg ginger beer is great. You have good taste.
Glad you're going to carry on with Lightbringer, Ephrem. Whatever you saw, it's just going to be a drop in the ocean of all the plot twists he throws in
I'm about an hour and a half into the ~40 hour audiobook. It's so nice to have discovered this series before it got finished, I've not been so excited for a release day for years and years!
Yes, I will carry on. I am reading about 10+ hours a day at the moment. I went to the public library just a moment ago, they have book 4 and 5, so I got both. Going to do same for all my books for awhile, to save some money.
Dang Amazon and their spoilers... The spoiler was from book 4 apparently, setting up scene for book 5...
Spoiler: spoiler lightbringer
"gavin is dead"
is what it said. it's not even a review, its just part of the book description at the top of the amazon page, grrrr lol
every scene I have with him now is ruined.
Good news for you buddy
That spoiler you quoted is wrong.
That hasn't happened at all.
Totally and 100% hasn't happened.
Note don't go back and re-look to see what made you think that, because there are some spoilers on that page you shouldn't read
But you misinterpreted one.
I literally only read 5 words as I was about to add to my cart, I only even looked down to make sure it said "shipped and sold by Amazon" didn't want a third party seller.
Yay! I will have book 1 finished by November 1st... I have so far to go! I'm excited
I’m picking my Book 5 copy up after work today
Mostly finished with the audiobook....lots going on.
On the 22nd, I started the new book. I read two pages of the summary of the previous books and I was like, "Okay, yeah, I don't remember any of this." So now I'm enjoying a reread and it's marvelous. This is such a good series!
I finished on Sunday
On the whole pretty good. Not sure Weeks 100% stuck the landing.
Still quite a bit I'm still vaguely confused on. Have to think on it some more
Very enjoyable though
I just loved it, except for one thing. Spoilers ahead for book 5.
Cried happy years for days as I was nearing the end of the audiobook. The only thing I'm really gutted about is Cruxor. I loved him so and I didn't understand the point of his death at that point. I know he'd predicted it, but it didn't even seem to achieve anything? I guess he was supposed to be the innocent who died before Ironfist would let his ships join the battle? But is that what happened? To be fair I probably zoned out on parts because it's difficult to focus 100% of the time when listening but it didn't seem like a satisfying or purposeful death at all to me.
Have people who have finished read the Acknowledgements?
Finished my reread of book 1. On to book 2!
Wow you read fast! I have this weird thing where I read out loud to myself, it helps me remember stuff better. I think that slows me down a lot though.
Also, congrats to the rest of you for finishing book 5! I can't wait!
I try! Though I may need to take a break. Resistance Reborn came out yesterday.
Somewhere near the end of my reread of the third book, I realized why I was so lost starting book five. I only remembered like two things from book four, and the events of the end of book three made it very clear that the stuff I remembered would happen very early on. So I looked up when book four came out and it was right as I went on a month-long trip to The US, which was immediately followed by pregnancy and a newborn. I read about a third of the book on the plane, and that's it.
So I just finished book four, the first one that was new to me, and absolutely loved it.
It is very clear that this is simply part one of the finale, with all the climax happening in the final book. But it worked for me. The setup is absolutely fantastic. That ending is glorious! From Liv seeing all the banes ready to besiege the Jaspers, to Kip bringing light, while the reader is fully aware that Kip is not where he's supposed to be. All the stuff of Kip knowing something is wrong, but just. not. figuring. it. out. It's just all so perfect! Undoubtedly, Kip will figure it all out just in time and he'll be there at the end. And then Gavin kills magic? Or maybe he just replaced Orholam and makes it better. Wouldn't that be the perfect way to end Gavin's story, with him sacrificing everything to save the world and completing his seventh purpose at the same time?
Well, anyway, I am starting the final book today, and I feel like I'm going to binge through this one so hard!
