Oh my goodness. What a powerful experience. Kitan, please hug this young woman TIGHTLY and tell her I am so incredibly sorry for her loss. Her story brought me to tears and broke my heart.

Thank Raelle so much for sharing her story. This really is powerful, and shows how a connection to a work of fiction can be so beautiful. :hug

That was nice to read, though sad.

This series was very important to me during a time of intense pain that has continued on and off for more than sixteen years now. At the time, Winter's Heart had recently been released, and I eagerly read through all of the available volumes and awaited the conclusion with much anticipation. I had been diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which is now commonly known as Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. When I came across the Wheel of Time, it was so thoroughly engrossing that it actually seemed to put some distance between my mind and the pain while I read, and I spent (as I still do, I suppose, just not to such an extreme as then) almost all my waking hours reading, when I was not visiting doctors and physical therapists.

I am very grateful for The Wheel of Time as it gave me an extended trip into a fantastic world. It has made a lasting impression on me, and I have quite literally lost track of how many times I have read all but the last three volumes and I own multiple copies in paperback and hardcover, the White Book, the RPG and the Companion.

Requiescat in pace, James Oliver Rigney Jr. And thank you.
