Welcome to Hidden Treasure, the 2025 Site Fundraiser. It will run from now through December 31, 2025.
Why do we have a fundraiser?
These funds cover operational costs such as maintaining the forum and the Library, community awards, advertising at JordanCon, and more. They also maintain the Robert Jordan Memorial Scholarship, which is a wonderful thing we can do for a broader community. Note that this site has no ads! These things are entirely funded by our membership, and every donation counts. Whether you can give $5 or $500, your donations will help keep our community thriving.
How do I donate?
There are two ways to donate. The first way is to send funds via PayPal. You can do that via our Donations page, or click this link to go directly to PayPal (send funds to payable@tarvalon.net). In the notes section, please include your Tower name and 2025 Site Fundraiser. You may also donate by mailing a personal check; please email shatayan@tarvalon.net for details and the address. Please include a note with your Tower name and 2025 Site Fundraiser on any checks also.
Why do we ask for your Tower name?
We track donors for recognition through the Avendesora Leaves program. Also, Tower names will be used for the prize drawings at the end of the fundraiser. However, if you do not want any public recognition, and do not want to be included in the prize pool, please include your Tower name in the note but add that you wish to remain anonymous, and “Anonymous” will be used on the tracking spreadsheet.
As for that treasure...
Treasure will be “found” for every $250 of donations reached. It will appear in two forms, alternating. At some donation levels, there will be a prize drawing (at the close of the fundraiser), using names of everyone who donates $5 or more. At other levels, a clue will appear. Use the clue to search for treasure, and there will be a prize drawing using names of everyone who successfully figures out the answer to the clue (whether or not they make a donation). Clues will be provided in a thread in General. Info on the actual prizes will be shared as we get closer to new donation levels; they are all items that were deposited deep in the Tower vaults...although some have apparently been scattered throughout Randland...in any case, let's find them and bring them to light!
Donation updates:
Our goal is to reach at least $3,000 in donations. Updates on progress will be in this thread. Every $250 is a new milestone; with prizes as follows.
Treasure/prizes for each milestone:
$250 clue 1 released – two winners, each gets sunglasses and a TarValon.Net sticker
$500 prize drawing – two winners, each gets sunglasses and a TarValon.Net bag
$750 clue 2 released – two winners, one gets a battle axe pin, one gets a chainmaille owl necklace
$1000 prize drawing – two winners, one gets a pin with hedgehog reading a book, one gets a charm that says "read a f*king book"
$1250 clue 3 released – one winner gets flask with Wheel of Time graphic
$1500 prize drawing – one winner gets a black t-shirt with flame and ouroboros on it
$1750 clue 4 released – one winner gets a white t-shirt with the phrase "I Embrace Saidar" and a flower on it
$2000 prize drawing – one winner gets a dark gray t-shirt with sword and dragon on it
$2250 clue 5 released – one winner gets a t-shirt that says "toss the dice" and a coin with dice/fortune graphics on it
$2500 prize drawing – prize TBA
$2750 clue 6 released – prize TBA
$3000 prize drawing – prize TBA
(All drawings will be held after the fundraiser closes, in order to include all participants.)
