What is the Membership Survey?
The membership survey is a tool for Execs to make decisions at the Annual Administrative Meeting to evolve and improve your experience at TarValon.Net. To be a useful tool we need LOTS of members to complete the survey – more participation means better data! This is your opportunity to share your thoughts on every aspect of the community, technology, and events that make up your experience at TarValon.Net.
Changes in the Survey from Last Year
Last year there were three key issues that boil down to technology. To this end, we have found a new software. The issue of not being able to stop midsurvey and come back is addressed. The issue of hitting a button and losing hours of work is addressed. The confidentiality of the results is improved further, including not needing a Tower login to take the survey.
The new software also allows for conditional questions. This means that there will be some questions you will only see if you are of a certain rank. For example, Citizens don’t have mentors, so they will not see the bulk of the questions regarding mentoring.
We have also reduced the survey from 150 questions to 100 (or less depending on your rank and other factors.)
Other Notes
Just like in the past, all fields are OPTIONAL. So if you don’t want to give your name or income or race or opinion on the administration or anything else, you do not have to. The field for name would help Execs in understanding your responses or if they have a question – but it is 100% your decision to give it.
The only people who will be able to see all the data are Ubahsur Kindellaer, Ennairam Lamp, Jeral Mazur and Jeffan Caliarthan. No one else will have the password to the software. Other Execs will receive data that does not have identifying data. For example, Jodea will see the results of questions related to Community Outreach, but not the names, location, rank, or affiliated group tied to those individual responses.
If during the course of taking the survey you wish to save, click the “Resume Later” button on the bottom left of the page you are on. Please save the email sent to you, as there is no way for anyone to see the user name, password, or email you enter. It will take you back to the last page you viewed. Don't worry, you are able to go back and change or review your answers.
If you click the currency converter, it will open based on your browser’s settings. Be careful it does not take you out of the survey.
In 2010 we had 281 members share their thoughts, 81% of the active population. Only 200 were able to submit results in 2011. We hope all these changes will increase the results in 2012. If one would like to see more data from 2009 or 2010, you can find them in the library.
The reason that this is called the 2011 Membership Survey, even though it is held in 2012, is that it is so early in 2012, that thoughts and reactions are more about 2011.
What do I get out of this?
Aside from getting your thoughts off your chest and knowing what you say could change the community? We have pretty signatures images and badges for you!

Additionally, the more surveys that are taken, the more we tape Elayne’s mouth to stop her from whining.

How long will the survey run?
The survey will run from Wednesday, February 1st to Wednesday, February 15th. This is only two weeks – half the time available in 2011, so be sure to get yours in quickly!
