I recently discovered Audible, and am in the middle of my first ever listen through of the WoT; I have read all the books many, many times, but listening is an interesting experience. I am currently on Lord of Chaos, and just finished the scene of Mat dancing with the serving girl in their inn...
I love the cover, but at the same time, I am a little irritated by it; I assume that the character on the cover is Jasnah, and . If there was any indication that the preceding was not actually the case, I missed it. Boggles my mind that this would be spoiled on the cover when it would have made...
I haven't had as much opportunity to read the past couple years, and I had never done audio books before; they have let me get a lot more reading done considering I have an hour long commute each day, and I can listen in the car. I have only done audio books for books that I had read previously...
Just started listening to tEotW; my first time listening to an audio book. I really like it so far, but audio books are crazy expensive. I get a little sad now whenever they first start to leave Emonds Field, and Rand is thinking that he'll come back one day. I always flash forward to the fact...
I thoroughly enjoyed this, and intend to pick up a copy of White Sands, which I had ignored until now. Reading the graphic novel portion on my phone was annoying, but I enjoyed the story.
Even though they are not canon anymore, do yourselves a favor, and read the original Thrawn trilogy, if you haven't already! It is an excellent Star Wars story.
Apparently, the GoT showrunners have changed their tune now; came across several articles referencing season 8 being the last, and season 7 & 8 being shorter than the standard 10 episodes.

I would love a WoT...
Super interested in this. I am really hoping that an HBO, Showtime, Amazon have picked this up; really anyone other than a traditional network. I figure that HBO will need something to fill the void that GoT will leave after next season. I see some people saying that they will watch the whole...
I read, and enjoyed the Potter books, but I am not a fanatic like some; my wife on the other hand LOVES the books, and the movies. I've been surprised that she hasn't really shown much excitement for this. I think she is more interested in the film that is coming out in the Fall.
I've loved reading for as long as I can remember; the earliest recollection I have is reading the Narnia books, A Wrinkle in Time, and the Little House on the Prairie series. My kids are baffled when see me reading, and ask "Haven't you read that before?". Blows their mind when I tell them that...
I've read a lot of Dean Koontz through the years. I actually just re-read all the ones I own because I was starved for reading material. Strangers has always been one of my favorites. You're right about the movie adaptions being poorly done. I've only seen 3, i think. Servants of Twilight...
Has anyone read the Winds of the Forelands series by David B. Coe? I read the first book, Rules of Ascension, YEARS ago and never got around to reading the rest of the series. I'm looking for a new series to eat up some time and since I have the first book already I wondered if it's worth it...
BS posted this on Facebook 5 hours ago: "Just finished the Words of Radiance (Stormlight 2) epilogue. 11k words long. I still have a handful of Interludes and skipped scenes to do." Can't wait for this to be released. I finished a re-read of WoK JUST before everyone here started the group...
I read all of these books umpteen years ago and hadn't read them since high school. Recently I picked up the Elenium, Tamuli and Belgariad collected editions and re-read them all. I own the Mallorean and Belgareth the Sorceror but they're packed away for my upcoming move. I decided to buy the...
I don't remember which Forsaken said it or which book it was in but one of them says to Rand "Do you remember when we took the game of Swords and learned how to kill with it?". I take that to mean it was similar, as others have said, to our fencing and that many of the Aes Sedai were very good...
