Very awesome "beginnings" tale!!! Did you have a particular affinity for anyone in particular in the books? Any Halloween costume pics? LOL

The possibility to earn the title was what I loved most about the site in the beginning - it had more meaning than just adding it in my head.

Also, I'd love to see those costumes!

Ohmygosh, if I can find those pictures I will scan them and share them for sure! We were all of 13 the first year we dressed up as characters for a friend's halloween party. We had to explain who we were all night! My best friend Joe went as Rand, and we spent s long time painting gold dragons up the sleeves of a red turtleneck... :rofl

I went as Moiraine and loved my blue dress!

How did the explaining part go? Because I always end up spending half an hour retelling the whole plot, because everything ​is important, obviously.

I'm usually tempted to just shove the book at them and be like, "Just... just read it, okay?" And then they will know the pain of explaining.

Yeah, I can never find a quick way to explain WoT...

Sooooo awesome!!!! I love the idea of the dragons up the sleeves LOL Moiraine FTW! When I first came to the site, almost 10 years ago now, I really wanted to be Blue like Moiraine...She's so awesome...plus I loved the gem on her forehead LOL

Oh man... explaining WoT to non-readers has always been a struggle. Luckily back then most of my friends were of the same geeky variety, so I didn't have to do much beyond "characters from a book." Keeping it that simple was a struggle for me! Over time most of them ended up starting the series, so it worked out!

Luna, that's what I do. I finally, finally just got my younger brother (and by that I mean he's 25 now) to start reading the series. I've always handed down my books to him, but he was always intimidated by the sheer size of WoT. He's now 5 books in and loving it! I'm so proud! :joy
