So going through the books, I am curious as to what everyone thinks is their favorite moment from the books just to see what other's view points of the book are. Here are mine.
EoTW: The battle as they are riding from the Two Rivers, and some of the start talking in the old tongue. To me it tied into the story of Manetheren and how the Sword that could not be broken rising again to be a thorn in the Dark One's Side.
The Great Hunt: Many good scenes in this book, but the one that stands out to me is Ingtar's sacrifice. To me it spoke of redemption, and that no matter how dark this world gets, as long as they have people willing to cast off the Dark One, there was still hope.
The Dragon Rising: Lots of good scenes again to choose from, but to me is Mat's assasult against the Stone stands out. The most imposing Fortress in the world, and Mat doesn't really bat much an eye, as he has a promise to keep.
The Shadow Rising: Again lots of good scene in the book, but to me the Two Rivers defeating the Trolloc army is one of the highpoints of the book. It also showed the strength and courage of the Tinkers. Many assoiciate pasifism with cowardness, yet in the scne it described Tinkers with children, their and Two Rivers, strapped to their backs and hips ready to take them to safety, to give their lives if need be. Among my top 15 scenes or so in the book.
The Fire of Heavan: Mat forming the band. Here among all the other books he comes into his own, and outside of Rand's shadow.
The Lord of Chaos: To be honest, I remember having tears in my eyes when Nyneave healed Siuan and Leane. I was honestly torn with what happened to Siuan, and thought her a good chracter, and seeing part of her restored did make it a moving scene, to be given back something you thought to never could be restored. It is like making the blind see, the deaf hear, and the infirm walk once again.
A Crown of Swords: Another book with several great scenes. For pure humor value I have to go with Mat and the Queen. It made me laugh, and there are few enough scenes in the series come close. Nyneave loosing her block gets an honorable mention.
A Path of Daggers: Only read it once, but the scene that stands out is the death of Vandene's sister (won't try to spell it). A highly emotional scene to me, and the one thing from the book that stands out. Honorable mention is Elyane entering the throne room and the scene with Dyelin.
Winter's Heart: Lots of scenes to choose from, but the one that stands out is Mat's escape from the Palace, all of it, especialy when he sets the Windfinder's free and says "And if I ask you to wait an hour..." That and Mat discovering that Tuon is the Daugher of the Nine Moons.
Crossroad of Twilight: Not so many good scenes here, but the one that stands out is Mat chasing the Sul'dam and having to kill her.
Knife of Dreams: Some good scenes in this book to choose, like Perrin finally rescuing Falie, the capture of Semirhage, Matt being reunited with the Band (Finally!). All in all I think it is the very small scene, with Nyneave of all people among my least favorite characters, that steals things, with Nyneave in the boarderlanders, reminding the survivors of Malkier of their duty. To me it was much like the scene in Lord of the Rings with the signal fires of Gondor being lit. I could see it in my mind how three men cheering "The Golden Crane flies for Tarmon Gai'don" would spread like wildfire through the boarderlands. A strong poweful scene of determination and hope, fighting against the shadow, Honorable mentions is Mat telling Mandowin to unfurl the banners to let people know it was the Band of the Red Hand doing to killing. Other Honorable mention is Egwaene and her battle inside the tower.
