Hiring - Technology Staff

Position Overview
The Department of Technology exists to maintain our website and forums, and to take care of IT problems and/or projects as they arise. We are currently seeking more staff to help meet those needs.

Requirements

• You must be a member in good standing with TarValon.Net.
• You must be experienced in working with any or all of the following areas: coding (HTML/CSS/jQuery/PHP/etc.), web design, web applications, Drupal, phpBB3, other CMS/forum software.
• You must be trustworthy, organized, and all the other jazz people want other people to be when they're trusted with important things.
• You must work well with others, and be able to stay in timely contact with the Director and fellow staff.
• You must have the time to pitch in and help out with projects, and the availability/tenacity to stick them out once you start them.

Duties and Responsibilities
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, would be to make yourself available to work on Technology projects as they appear. The time commitment will vary week to week, but you should not expect to spend more than 10-15 hours per week working on any given project.

In your email, please give us your qualifications -- history with the Tower and any experience/skills that you are willing to let us make use of over in Tech.

I would like to apply for this, but I am probably a bit to new...

You can always send in an app! But since you aren't even a Citizen yet, Sam, that would probably be a good guess. :P You don't need to be of any particular rank to be Technology staff, but you do need to be in "good standing" - if you haven't been here long enough for anyone to know who you are, then you're more along the lines of unknown than good.

I just figure there's bound to be a half dozen more qualified applicants than I would be.

Is there any limit to how many positions you can be on? I'm already a TVT reporter and I applied to be a merit thinky person.

No, I don't think there is a limit for staff positions. Just make sure you aren't stretching yourself too thin. Also, really, we appreciate all applications... if everyone thought they were not good enough to apply then we wouldn't have anyone! There's lots of room for various skillsets in Tech. Someone who is diligent, reliable and hard working will always be valuable
