Hi everyone, recently been coerced/volunteered to join the site by my girlfriend so thought I should introduce myself before I get told off :P

1. Favorite WoT character and why?
As I'm only just starting the third book my opinions aren't fully formed yet, but Thom is so far the most interesting character.

2. How did you find us?
My girlfriend an her group of friends are very active on the site and as I'm beginning to enjoy the books myself I thought it could be a good idea to join up.

3. What do you do (student, job, etc)?
I'm a civil engineer currently working on site, which means I shout at people for building things incorrectly and then have to spend a while figuring out if what they've done will actually work so we don't need to rip it all out.

4. Favorite book/author (other than WoT)?
A toss up between Patrick Rothfuss and Stephen Erikson.

5. Anything you need help with?
Finding a good place to get an avatar from!

Hi Camulus, welcome to Tar Valon!

You know, weirdly, I'm sometimes almost jealous of people who are reading the series for the first time. Not just because it's finished so you can go right the way through, but also because I can never do that again - I'll always know what happens :laugh:

I hope you are enjoying the books

Do we get to know who your girlfriend is? :waggle

I like Patrick Rothfuss too - I only just read "The Name of the Wind" and "The Wise Man's Fear" a month or so ago, but I did enjoy them

I'm afraid I don't have many suggestions regarding avatars, but I think there's a sticky in this forum which offers up some links

Mine was an image made by a friend from ages ago so I didn't have to go looking :rofl

I didn't exactly succumb, I was signed up by someone on my behalf wasn't I? :P

I am enjoying the books so far, I'm hoping to see a bit more Mat in the third book as he seems to be the least developed (so far) of the three ta'veren.

I'll have a look at that sticky if I can find it, I need to get something suitably awesome!

Never said it was a bad thin, I just enjoy being bratty >_> I'm looking forward to getting to know the community and have people I can rant at/gush to when I read the books

I'm glad the arm twisting has worked, as she has skillfully avoided answering any questions I ask. :P Though if you are bratty you two are perfect for each other. :P
