Hello Everyone

Hi everyone,

I'm Matt, a 21-year old Software Engineer from the Netherlands.

I found the Wheel of Time around 5 months ago, and have been hooked ever since.
Currently reading Winter's Heart, so there is still a lot left for me to read.

Allow me to steal Avendaella Tikvah's example questions.

1. Favorite WoT character and why?
Hmm, don't know for sure for this.
I like Perrin for his wolfish personality and that he does what is asked of him, even though he doesn't like it.
Aviendha, strong girl who says exactly what she thinks.
Moraine, not exactly sure why.. I dunno, I think she will return later on (please no spoilers).


2. How did you find us?
I was searching some Wheel of Time stuff and I somehow got onto your corrupted forum.
So I was wondering if the website still existed and what exactly it was, and here I am :P

3. What do you do (student, job, etc)?
I'm a student Software Engineering (IT).


4. Favorite book/author (other than WoT)?
Hmm, favourite book..
To be honest, only recently got (back) into reading.
It is a bit weird how I got into it.. but that's for a different time.

But a book that I've read a long time ago, and I still like is the Rainmaker by John Grisham.


5. Anything you need help with?
Yeah, getting a good name.. Its always the hardest part, and I am really bad at those.

The 9th book, Winter's Heart. About half way -ish.

Not that much really, I've been busy with study and work a lot. So that didn't leave much free time nest to the usual stuff I do.
Mostly been helping friends with programs they are making.


I like the forum, interesting conversations I've seen so far. It's hard to fit in though, but I guess that is normal.

Welcome to the forum! As for names, I used my name and combined it with Wheel of Time, and LOTR, it may have something to do with the White Tree tattoo I have on my arm or something.....

Getting from zero to Winter's Heart sounds like pretty good progress. I've been at it for about a year and a half, and still haven't finished. :P

I came up with my last name using a mountain range (the Cascades) and tweaking it a little, because that's the kind of geography I identify with.

Give it time wonder in to others threads, ask questions. That is what I have been doing. I am on book 11 . Hope you're Enjoying.

If you haven't found a suitable name still, I'd suggest looking through one of the many baby name lists that you can find online and then either take one you like, or tweak one to be a bit more fantasyish.
