I don't think so, even though Nynaeve showed weakness during her testing in the Tower.

I think it's not weakness, and it wasn't about turning to Shadow. It was testing her priorities: which is more important to Nynaeve, Lan or the title of Aes Sedai? Which is more important to her: following behavior rules of Aes Sedai or saving people's lives? She's an independent one, who sees being an Aes Sedai as tool for her to save people, and she's not afraid of acting accordingly even if that brings her in danger of losing her right to the title & shawl. For many other Aes Sedai the title is an absolute value, and for Nynaeve it's not.

If there was something during her test about considering turning to Shadow (which I see as a totally different issue to Aes Sedai vs. Lan or proper behavior vs. saving lives), please remind me of it! I might have actively ignored it, since in my opinion her test was awesome (and well written). :p

I don't think Nynaeve would ever turn to the Shadow for any reason. First of all she's fought too hard against it and second, if she turned especially to help Lan, Lan would never forgive her.

I never thought there'd be much of an issue with the passing of Lan's bond. Myrelle promised the Amyrlin she would pass it to Nynaeve, so I wasn't expecting anything worse than some haughty remarks.

Yeah. She showed them what "Servant of All" really means.

I think that honestly, I don't want Nynaeve to go all icky on us even though she is a bit on the whiny side in my opinion. I'm just hoping that after all these years of waiting for the last battle there will be a few surprises and that it doesn't just go good guys unite, bad guys attack, Rand confronts, and all is well... I think many of you who may strongly disagree with me can at least cede me this point.
I am sure that Mr. Sanderson will give another masterful book and that surprises will be aplenty

I think this is where the genius of Darkfriends will come in, we know some of those dedicated to the Shadow but not all by far. There could be rulers, nobles and other important people who could turn out to be evil, and there are still some Aes Sedai unaccounted for, not to mention the Asha'man. I think there will be a few surprises and twists in the last book, I certainly hope so :D

The key to look for there is ambiguity in the characters' POV chapters. There are some people who Theoryland is speculating on (as Darkfriends). Sorilea, for one.

I think the 13x13 has to come in at some point even if it's just an Asha'man and that's how Taim has been controlling the Black Tower.

Earlier someone discussed some points about the Forsaken and how they turned; both Demandred and Sammael turned to the Dark One because they were in some way a competitor to LTT, think about how easily some characters might also be turned because of their considered rivalry with Rand, or thinking there's some advantage. I think to a degree the battles that we've seen so far have been a push towards evening the tables so to say. You have some of the strongest channelers to appear since the AoL vs the some of the strongest from the AoL. There's bound to be plenty that change sides or finally show which side they're on, but I don't think we'll see any of the main characters doing it.

Agreed. We have too many POV chapters from Nynaeve, Egwene, Elanye, Aviendha, Min, Rand, Mat, Perrin... for any of them to go over.

Yeah. Jordan is good at dropping hints. I mean, Verin was a pretty big one, and she was hinted at being Black, at least. Ingtar was strongly hinted at being a darkfriend, too.

Some people have inferred that Sorilea is based upon her duplicity early on - saying she wants to make the Car'a'carn hard, then, when asked by Cadsuane, noncommittally agreeing that he needs to be strong, not hard. And a few other factors.

It's a bit tenuous, but there was strange writing going on with her early on.

I'd be surprised if we make it through A Memory of Light without SOMEONE we say that about being revealed as a Darkfriend.

If Elan Morin Tedronai or Tel Janin Aellinsar can become a Darkfriend, so could Sorilea.

I agree. If we have POV chapters of a character, we can see what they're thinking, and a lot of them (including Nynaeve) are clearly not Darkfriends now, and are so completely opposed to it that they would never change sides.

I don't think any of the main characters will turn sides as they all have sense enough to realize the Dark One couldn't and wouldn't give them what they wanted anyway. Only the Forsaken are deluded enough to think they're going to be rewarded in the end.

Never. You have started quite a thread, though.

I could see one of the forsaken offering but she wouldn't take it. Lan would kill her if she did or at least him self.
