So I have finally finished the first book and I have to say I'm quite impressed lol. I just have to buy the next book and it'll be time to continue on!
Very nice Luko! You've got a lot in store waiting for you. I've heard a lot of people say the second book (The Great Hunt) was the one that really got them hooked on the series. Personally, I was hooked after the first book, but the fourth (The Shadow Rising) will always be my favorite.
I barely picked up book 2 after the first one. I am so glad I had a persistent friend who did all but glue the next book to my hand so I would read it.
Fully agree. The amount of pure table setting and overbearing setup in the first book gave little indication how good the rest of the series would grow to be.
I finished the first book and then it was one after the other like a person with an unstoppable addiction. And now I have all 15 books so I can read them one after the other. One after the other. It will be brilliant.
Yes the first book was good, but I'd have to agree, it was the second that hooked me hard. Now I'm just plowing through, one book after another. Currently reading The Gathering Storm, so I haven't finished yet. But then, I didn't pick up the first book until Sept. of 2012. So I feel I'm going through pretty quickly, I'm not typically this fast of a reader.
Yeah, I'll agree with others here - book 2 is definitely what got me into the series. That and a very passionate sister. I'm halfway through book 3 right now and loving it! I enjoyed book 1, but didn't really fall in love with it or anything. Honestly, for most of the book, it didn't seem all that interesting - go to a town, oh no bad guys, feel the town, find another town..., and it all seemed kinda generic, LoTR-style fantasy to me. Near the end of the book, though, it definitely started to intrigue me more, and I enjoyed the end enough to get me to try book 2. And then...pretty much hooked.
I tried to read Book Two first (found it in the library), couldn't make head nor tail of it and gave up after a couple of chapters. Later found Book One in a shop, loved it and bought a copy of Book Two, loved that too, then Book Three and so on ...
