True, but I didn't want to speak on your behalf, Keladria Sedai. :D I know Dareth doesn't mind; for one thing, he was sitting next to me while I was typing. :)

Tell you what -- I won't even try to make you sing, if you don't want to. It's also a bar, so you can come and have a beer or a cocktail and giggle at the rest of us. :D I do plan, however, on dragging your lovely wife up with me for a duet. :D
I figured that, but repling that way was much simpler :P

That sounds like a fabulous plan :pleased-1:

I'm not generally one to speak before spoken to, but as Alice points out, if everyone followed that rule, it would be fairly quiet. I tried to prove this in formal logic, but building in the semantics of 'before' is more difficult than you might expect.

Welcome!

You tried to apply Logic to a book about Nonsense?! <3 Seems a very Malkavian mind (don't worry if you don't get that reference).

So a reference to my favorite story of all time.. gets my stamp of approval.. not that you need it but ehh there it is anyhow :)

Welcome welcome!

The attempt would not be lost on Carroll. He was primarily a mathematician, wrote a textbook on logic, and made many logic jokes in the Alice books. The nonsense in Alice is very systematic, logical, and full of significance. If you're interested in how full of thought those two books are, I'd recommend the Philosopher's Alice or, better yet, the Annotated Alice. The former is out of print, probably only available in a university library, and fairly dry. The latter is perfect for any intelligent person who wants to get a little more out of what looks like a pair of fairly silly kids' books.

I actually have Carrolls book on Math and Logic. I've not yet read it but I have it. And I get a lot of the "nonsense" yet very logical aspect of the Wonderland stories.. my dry humor doesn't always come across well on the interwebs.

I am glad to meet you, Eluial's husband!

I'm sorry I was so snippy in the employment forum. :look: I'm really not a bear, just ask El!

Edit: As for Alice in Wonderland...I have always strongly felt that it was an adventure in magical mystery shroomie land if you know what I mean, regardless of what Carroll's normal past-times are. :look:

Hah, yes. Because as we discussed the other night, if he doesn't come it means I'm going to be riding the 48 home from Greenwood, drunk, at 1am, by myself.

Eeeeexcellent. *Mr Burns fingers*

Seriously, this is going to be a blast. :D

Raeviendha, I thought Madrin was in Toronto? That's a couple time zones and an international border from here... ;)

If I move out west it will be to a small town I think. I hate city life :( Somewhere close to a city though for work. If I'm successful in the career I WANT, I'll probably end up near LA though :P Not that that is likely. hehe

There're TONS of small towns in BC, though! I mean, it's a whole province. :embarassed:

I hear Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland have started having a bit of a film industry around here as well, though I dunno if that's your dream job. :) That's just the big one I know in LA...

Hello and nice to meet you Ithilluin! I'm Arec, I can't believe it's taken me so long to see this thread. El is one of my favorite people here, so hopefully we'll be fast friends! I hope to see you in May also!
