Min & Aviendha
I would probably go with Aviendha if only because she is the only character I haven't wanted to punch in the throat at one time or another. I liked her as Maiden of the Spear. I liked her as an Apprentice. I like her as a true friend to those she chooses. I like her genuine sense of honor. Like when she found out how Nynaeve and Elayne had treated Mat after he'd rescued them. She made no bones about the fact they had misbehaved. I loved her for that.
This may surprise some people. I hate Min. I didn't like her "taunting" Rand when they first met in Baerlon. I didn't like her when she kept making Rand take her everywhere. And it is her fault that Rand lost his hand. He put his hand out to protect her. If she had stayed at home, like she should have, Rand would still have that hand. She has her uses, but going to a meeting with "The Daughter of the Nine Moons" wasn't one of them. I just wish someone would balefire her.
I love Birgitte, though.

I'm finding that this, for me, varies according to the book I'm currently reading. There have been some well-written moments that have just made me love whichever characters I'm reading about at the time.
For one specific confrontation, Egwene & Elaida, after that I loved both more than ever. Overall though, probably Mat and Moiraine.
I always liked Liandrin :grumble and Alviarin as well though.

Rand is clearly not a favorite. I like Elyas and Tam and Rodel Ituralde for minor charecters, and just goes to show you that the pattern isnt the only thing that revolves around taveran, i love the big three. matt perrin and rand, and Rand takes the gold. he goes through more than the others combined, and he does it partially insane.
Nynaeve has always been a favorite, as well as Elayne, Rand (although recently, not so much), Mat, Birgitte, Aviendha, and Lan. I can connect with Nynaeve, and Rand's just so typical that you can't help liking him. Elayne is awesome because she knows what she wants and she will do almost anything to get it. I like Lan and Birgitte's sense of honor, and Aviendha also reminds me of myself in a certain way, and she was a major tomboy

I AM THE DRAGON'S LEFT HAND! I have to say that Rand is the only "main character" or "hero" that has ever been my favorite. I enjoyed almost every minute of the wheel of time, but every time that I was most excited, it was always when the scene was with Rand. His journey from a lost soul/souls to his claim to power was incredible. I love his coming to grips with Lews Therin and himself, and the climax of his personal saga: when he realizes the meaning of rebirth and the pattern on the tops of Dragonmount. He steps out of boyhood and becomes a man: dedicated to sacrifice for others with a happy countenance. So incredible for me. We are born again to have a chance to do it better.
Moiraine and Mat without a doubt.
And I love Sanderson's Mat. He gets a lot of hate for it, but I think he did a great job with Mat.

This is probably not going to come as a shock to anyone, but Mat is my favourite. Honestly, it was Perrin early on but he quickly started to annoy me. I identify with Mat when it comes to the troublemaking haha and people seem to think I'm awfully lucky some times. Not to mention he just feels the most real to me.

I love Mat. I didn't always like Sanderson's Mat, but he definitely had improved a lot by AMoL. I did always love Rand, which I know is a bit "well duh" but I can't help it. He's adorable even when he's being wool-headed :rofl In terms of the women, I like Moiraine sometimes. Egwene sometimes. I love Aviendha, unreservedly. I also like most of the other Wise Ones, actually. In fact, most of the Aiel (apart from the Shaido).
Moiraine and Verin for me. I love how determined they are. They set a goal and absolutely nothing will stop them from achieving it.

Honestly my favorite character keeps changing. Right now I like Mat and Nynaeve. They both seem to grow throughout the series the most. Perrin and Faile are my favorite couple though!
Nynaeve will always be my favourite character I like Mat too, though I didn't really think much of him at the beginning. That's probably because you don't get any POV from him in the first two books. Plus, all he does is cause trouble for his friends in EoTW and TGH! I really started liking him once he made that deal with the Snakes and Foxes.

Egwene wasn't always my favorite, but the last, say, six books or so she kicked butt. So she is definitely my favorite now. I also liked seeing Nynaeve grow and have some awesome moments, although she had some annoying ones as well towards the beginning. Aviendha is great as well, I liked her look on things and her sense of humor. Actually I pretty much liked all the Aiel. Gareth Bryne was a great minor character, and I liked that he was so important.

He side characters are easier for me to identify with. I like Nole and Julen more than Rand. Mat and Perrin are good characters too. I would not mind reading a book with nothing but them talking. They have the best lines.
Mat is my favorite male character cuz I want to be more like him with his reasoning of the world and the way it works

Egwene, Mat, Min, and Perrin. Rand has always driven me nuts. I used to like Nyneve when I read the series in high school, but now she has started to bother me. I used to like Perrin most of the three Ta'avern, but now I think Mat is my favorite of the three. Loial is enderaing and Tuon is also interesting.
