Yes! Firesong was awesome. He appears in later books, in an expanded role, namely the Storm trilogy. And yes, the Herald-Mage trilogy features Herald Vanyel and his partner, Stefen the Bard. Sorry, I have been reading Mercedes Lackey since I was about 14.
