Black Jewels or Others series? or both? I've found that many folks prefer one over the other. I'm old school, so prefer Black Jewels. Still, the Others is pretty good too!
That's great! I went to DragonCon for the first time in 2019 and cosplayed as Kerowyn from Misty Lackey. I will have to share pix in Makerspace.

I've never read that trilogy - I will have to pick it up next time I'm at the library! I stuck with the Valdemar books, mostly. I also like her Hundred Kingdoms series.

I prefer the Black Jewels series, tbh. The Others are ok and I read them, but....yeah...
I went to DragonCon a few years ago and heard Misty read from her new book. We had time to catch the end of her signing or the beginning of her reading. So we took a pass on her signing and wound up sitting front row for her reading. It was good! Almost as good as the time I made Laurell K. Hamilton laugh during a panel at DragonCon.

I asked her a question about why Jewish people in her stories use jewelry of Torah tablets to protect themselves from vampires rather than the Star of David. She explained a very serious answer about how the Star of David is a symbol of the race rather than the religion (which is true). And I said something about "wanting to protect myself from actual vampires, not the sparkly fake kind," and I saw her bend forward, her curls fell forward and the whole room erupted in laughter. It was great, it was on DCon TV. I was so pleased with myself.

Sounds like fun! I might need to try as a 'linked' or Hydra-type player, as I'm super new! I will post in the murder mystery post, as I actually have never watched Supernatural.

I haven’t watched it either. Most of our themed games don’t require any knowledge of the original property though.
