Overview:
Discourse between members can lead to conflicts. People get angry at one another, and the the root of the arguments and blow-ups are not truly resolved, so they occur again and again. In order to help resolve issues between members, we are creating the Tower Mediator position. The person(s) in this role will offer peer mediation when conflicts occur by facilitating communication and understanding on both sides of the disagreement. Members will be able to request mediation of their own volition, or site administration will be able to recommend or even require mediation. Mediation is private and may take place via email, PM conversations, Discord or whatever medium the participants have access to and feel comfortable in.

We think taking the time to talk out issues, reflect on why these feelings are occurring, and actively listen to each other will help. Tower Mediators will use conflict resolution strategies to help members hear each other and come to a satisfactory resolution.

We are looking to hire 1-2 people as Tower Mediators. This is a non-rotating admin role within the Department of Membership. It is eligible for the Administrator Merit.
