Question about Rand at Tarmon Gai'don

I think its already happened. During his soulsearching on Dragonmount, he came to terms with the fact he had lived and died as Lews Therin Telamon. He found his reason for wanting to live again. Until then, he had considered Lews Therin to be someone else. Since he now sees them as a whole being, he has then died and lived again. Thoughts?

it could be as simple as reincarnation. They all died defeating the DO but then lived again when it was time to defeat him again... The wheel turns... and Elayne is pregnant, no? i know, it is too simple a theory. :) it's been a long time since i red the books.

Something just hit me.... maybe Rand's not gonna die after all? He's gonna have 2 kids who has like... well.. his blood and they'll die, not him... :look: and twice dawns the day.... they'll not die on the same day.

Just my thoughts on the comments above.

Pretty well reasoned, but it leaves out Alivia helping Rand die since she wasn't involved in those events. If you're right, that means he has to die again, again... again..

Whatever event it is that helps Rand die and live again, I get the sense that Alivia's the one who's going to have to pull the trigger

Elayne's twins likely won't even be born by the time the books are finished. She's only a few months pregnant and the Last Battle is imminent.

Kerrin I think you're right here. He's died on Dragon Mount again and in some ways the day has dawned twice with the light rising over the mountain.

I've got it! I've solved it! lol. Probably not. But it would work. It's tied to Nynaeve healing someone three days dead.....

Time travel.

Rand loses and dies. No one there to help him. Three days later, Nynaeve time travels back and heals him, saving him. Then he can redo the battle/whatever. Twice dawns the day. Rand dying and living. Nynaeve doing her heavily hinted at death healing. Everything is tied up. You can all stop speculating now lol

I don't think Time-travel exists in Randland. RJ studied physics, so I don't think he likes the concept. There is still the Balefire option, but I do like your Nyneave death healing theory. It might happen.

I think there is a further reason he has to die and live again, the seanchan prophecy says he will be blinded, meaning he wont be able to see to weave, that could be a reference to the need for callandor to be used he could still link blind, or it could be a reason to have alivia help him die so he can be ripped out of TAR, in the process maybe freeing him from the wheel's turning? a reward for service done :)

I think the blinded part is a misinterpretation. People don't realize that all the prophecies aren't about Rand. I believe that one refers to Mat and his giving up half the light of the world to save the world.

I think the blindness was just figurative for how his eyes were messed up a bit from being hit in the face with fire.

Dude these threads are two years old.

I'd appreciate it if you'd stop digging them all up. You've done it a lot now.

Okay here's the low down then.

Usually only reply to something that is recent, as bringing up old stuff tends to make the page a bit confusing as to what people are currently discussing or need replies to. It's not an "official rule" exactly. But its a good habit to follow.

I don't mind if you dig something up that is old in order to ask a question in the related topic, nothing wrong with that. And searching through old threads is a good way to find answers to questions you have.

But digging up threads just to increase your post count isn't on. The post you made in this thread is a pretty good example of a post I'd like not to be seeing personally. It's pretty clear this is an old thread with outdated information.

The post count will come naturally as you reply to current threads.

Welcome to the site.

official rules are as follows in this thread:

http://www.tarvalon.net/phpbbforum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=8296

Everyone who participates in book discussions is expected to read and adhere by these rules.

1. This forum is only for theories on Book 13.

2. Please do not begin multiple threads on one topic. It is a good idea to scan over the last few pages or so to make sure that there are not too many threads on the same topic.

3. Please use a thread title that clearly indicates what the thread is about.

4. Please don’t use netspeak; proper English will get your ideas across much more coherently. Titles using netspeak will be edited to a more appropriate title; entire posts made up of netspeak will likely be locked or deleted.
