Hi all!

I am looking for quotes that represent the different people of the Wheel of Time, preferably something that talks about them.
For example, I remember there was a saying about borderlanders protecting women, that a borderlander would always put himself between a woman and harm, or some such.
I was given this quote about Cairhienin, but I don't know the source:
Some play Daes Dae'Mar and some live it. But the Cairhienin have it coursing through their very veins.

Do we have somewhere a list of such quotes?

I've actually done a lot of searching for these for my card game project. What I've done is get digital versions of the books in my "books" app (although kindle works just as well) and used the search function there. If you're not interested in buying the books digitally, most libraries these days have digital lending for eBooks as well, which I think should work in the same way?

I'm not familliar with a specific list of quotes like that but some of the library pages have quotes attributed to their characters. As for the quote you listed, I can't tell you more than that it's not in The Eye of the World or The Great Hunt, although this comparable quote comes from Hurin in the latter:
"I don't know much about Cairhienin nobles, but -- well, Daes Dae'mar can be dangerous anywhere, but especially in Cairhien, I've heard."

Murandians: "It was his opinion that Murandy would remain a patchwork of all but independent lords and ladies until the Wheel turned and a new Age came. Murandians called themselves Lugarders or Mindeans or whatever before they named a nation. If they even bothered to name one." --Gareth Bryne, The Fires of Heaven, Chapter 28

Arafellins: "They have strange ideas about honor and debts in Arafel." -- Siuan, The Dragon Reborn, Chapter 9

Shienarans: "Shienarans took shame the same way other people took being branded a thief." --Rand, The Great Hunt, Chapter 2

Saldaeans: "Well, you know by now Saldaeans aren't quiet. Except with strangers and outsiders. Set the sun on fire one minute, and the next, it's all blown away and forgotten. Make Arafellin look stolid and Domani downright dull." --Elyas, The Path of Daggers, Chapter 10

I'll see if I can find any more.

Oh, and I remembered the one I think you were referencing about men protecting women:

"'A man who will not die to save a woman is no man.' Immediately he disgraced himself by blushing. It was a Shienaran saying, and he knew it sounded pompous before it was out of his mouth." The Great Hunt, Ch. 16 (Rand speaking to "Selene")

Thanks!
Also, I have the entire series on eBooks, so I can absolutely do that!

Nice! I think I'll use at least two of those!
Thank you!
