Yay, for more MN and MN-adjacent people! And also for fishing puns! :beer

Actually, the fish looked more like this one, though I'm not sure if this is the exact fish we saw:

It seems that the Land of 10,000 Lakes might also be the Land of 10,000 Giant Fish Statues! :rofl

Don't ya know, all this MN talk is making me hanker for a MN road trip. It's a beautiful place!

OMG, I’ve been there! Didn’t even remember until now, as I was probably around the same age you were, but I’ve definitely been inside that musky’s mouth.

Yeah, like I said, it always struck me as an odd landmark. But, whatever floats their boat. :cheeseeni:

Puns are always good for a smile. ;)
Yeah, I've driven through several small towns around the Great Lakes, MN, MI and WI with big fish statues, apparently it's a thing. :cheeseeni:
Now that you say it, it wouldn't surprise me to find 10,000 giant fish statues in the upper mid-west.
I used to have a daily drive to and from work, where roughly a 2 mile stretch of it was along the shore of one of Lake Superior's bays. I'd driven along it countless times, but after living away in OH for 8 years, then going back, I had a new appreciation for how nice the scenery in the Northwoods is. Doncha know. ;) /thumbsup

:look:
While we're on the subject of doncha knows, I'll leave this here:

Ok, sorry, Ingrid you can have your thread back!

Ok, cool! My mom's family is from Duluth, so we used to go up there quite a bit when I was young.

Can't say I have ever visited the Green Giant Statute, though I have visited the giant fish statute.

How do you like MN, compared to the other places you have lived?
It has its own draw, I suppose. The big skies, fields and small towns are beautiful. I don't dislike it, but I definitely miss the ocean and the mountains and the freedom that came with both.

Oh no! I think this great! The best way to get to know people. I have been here for five years, but apparently I need to explore this area more to find all the fish statues. There are some pretty cool spots here, though. I found some caves and Pipestone National Monument was far more interesting than I had imagined. Thanks for the welcome!
