It's possible that they have so many @'s that they can't keep up. :look:

 I got a Twitter account specifically for WoTWednesdays, and I still don't know how to Twitter. I'm slowly getting the hang of Insta, though.

I was in the casting thread and reading one of Jocasta Braithe post, her lastest one. It brought up an interesting thought on how will they approach the love life with Rand. With how his love starts and what it grows into.
We may not get all of those little moments that show us why he ended up with all three and what made all three of them fall in love with him. Even here we each have a our favorite that we like over the other. We should see Min in season one and possibly Elayne as well. Granted reading the series it feel like from the start Elayne and Rand are going to be together.
Granted as a whole we have progressed quite a bit on people's views on how relationships should be but a majority of people still see things as 1:1. I could be over thinking it since people could write it off as a fantasy world but you never know.

I think if they took out one of the three it would really screw things up.

A coworker of mine came in to chit-chat with me about WoT, because she saw that they were working on season 2. She mentioned that they might cut out a lot of the Seanchan society and culture. I really hope they don't, but I understand a lot of it is unnecessary to the plot, but a lot of it is. :look: But the Seanchan are fascinating.

Elayne, Aviendha and Min are all MAJOR storyline characters. I could kind of see a way that they might be able to cut Min, since she's primarily a support character (she has less of her own arc than Elayne and Aviendha, she's more a support character supporting at various points in the story Rand and Siuan.) But man. It would be a HUGE change. I do think that Rand's three-way love life might be a controversial aspect of the show. I think RJ was trying to show a consensual polyamorous relationship, but if it's badly portrayed he's going to come out looking like an old school king with concubines. Yikes.

True I am not saying they are going to cut them, but possibly change the relationship which they have with Rand. Which could alter other story lines.

The last I saw on this Rafe had said he wanted to play up the polly side of things. :cheeseeni: Personally I want to see Aviendha and Elayne have their own relationship as it's feels unrealistic to me to have 3 women happy to share 1 man but not mix up anything else... I'm just hoping all round the relationships are better.

I think it seems timely, honestly. Like. It's the right moment for it. I do hope they'll tweak the Aiel so it's a little more reciprocal though. Melaine should have two husbands. She can handle it.

I'd like to see that, too!
Plus, the ladies' familiarity with Aiel culture, and knowing Rand technically belongs to it, provides some in-world justification for their own polyamorous relationship. It helps to provide a believable reason the three women would even consider a multiple-partner situation when they have no cultural context for doing so.

I'm also THRILLED at Rafe's insinuations that he plans on making R/A/E/M into more of a polyamory thing and less of a harem thing. Even as a wide-eyed teenager discovering WOT for the first time, I rolled my eyes at that. Although I'll be sad to see the Aiel adoption ceremony go -- I'm fairly sure that made me cry the first time I read it.
The feels. :cry

That ceremony has to stay but agreed may have to tweak it a little depends on the other small tweaks that have been made. The ceremony and what is stands for though shouldn't change. It's important to the story.

If they're going a more polyamorous direction they're going to have to change "what it stands for," though, aren't they?
Little weird to be in a romantic relationship with your sister. This isn't Game of Thrones.

No? It doesn't have to be a big four-way to be poly. Just a consensual arrangement where they have multiple partners. It doesn't mean Elayne and Aviendha have to be sexually involved with each other.

Mm, technically true, yeah. When I think "taking it in a more poly direction" I interpreted that to mean that the women would also have relationships with each other -- because the book's way of handling it does already technically conform to the definition of polyamory in that everyone involved is consenting. I suppose it's possible that one or both of them could also have a relationship with Min. (Given her unwillingness to sit normally in a chair, I think it's fair to say there's already some bisexual subtext going on there.) It's true that they wouldn't necessarily have to be involved with each other. I guess it just seemed like the most natural additional pairing, to me, because Elayne and Avi are already so close in the text.

Elayne and Avi have some of the best bonding moments in the story. As it has been mentioned although there is a shared loved. None of them share a moment of love with him. They have a schedule were he is passed around among them.

I didn't read it that way, I thought it would be just... handled less like king solomon's concubines. LOL. Although I love the idea of Min as bi. It works for her in my head somehow. I can't really imagine Elayne as bi though. I *can* imagine Elayne having other lovers though, or a consort-husband for political reasons. I love Elayne and Aviendha as sisters though, I hope they keep it.
