Shoot I read a bunch this morning and had thoughts I wanted to post later but now I don't have time. I read up to the first couple chapters in Part 3.

Yeah, now we get to the infodump parts, but one of Sandersons strengths is to explain such things in a non-boring way

I always felt he had a cinematic flare, or maybe that his prose wasn’t so dense that it wasn’t too hard to figure it out

It's really not dense. I like how he explains things in conversations by having characters ask questions to get information.

Ok so I read up to Ch. 26 but I don't think this really spoils anything. It's super annoying how trusting and instantly in love with Elend Vin is. My god, girl, you barely know him.

I couldn't help it, I liked them.
I like them, too. I think she falls quick bc he's kind to her and one of the first things he says to her is against how nobles treat the Skaa. Impressionable young girls eat that stuff up.

Isn't his first appearance literally him at a ball, but reading books off to the side instead of participating in the social event? I'm not there yet but I can't remember.

Yeah, it is a bit stereotypical that Vin instantly fall in love with the first male person to be nice to her. But then, she hasn't really had that many male people be nice to her...
Well, he isn't the FIRST male person to be nice to her. Lestabournes (forgive me if I'm spelling it wrong. I'm listening, not reading), not to mention Kal, Ham, Dox....

Yeah, but he's the only guy closest to her age, I think which makes a world of difference.
