So, I know... it pains us all to talk about it, but we kind of have to, don't we?

For those that haven't seen it: Click here. It's bad, and is kind of the worst-case scenario for an adaption.

What are your guys' thoughts on the pilot released by Red Eagle Entertainment? Are there any redeeming qualities to it, or is it just not worth ever mentioning?

I still haven't seen the whole thing.

All the bad stuff around it and the first two minutes pretty much warned me off.

I don't think the actor for Lews Therin was completely terrible, he had some moments that were all right.

I'm trying to figure out how they made the jump from "calls down the power of the Light itself, pulling the world nearly apart at the seams to form a mountain which could be seen for hundreds of leagues around" to "walks up a stairway into the sunlight." :scratch They did a pretty stellar job of taking an intense, gripping scene and making it a slow, anti-climatic info dump. :(

It's been a while since I've seen it. I remember not liking it, and for good reasons. Bad acting, questionable timing, legal reasons, and...casting a brown-haired actress as Ilyena SUNHAIR. (Although, that was kind of funny.)

I think what really made me mad was the legal reasons. We had been waiting for so long...then, they give us this poorly made pilot, air when they knew no one would watch, all so they could keep the rights. I'm just glad it's in better hands now...

Wow, that's bad. Bad choice of actors, bad acting, so not how I imagined that scene! I love that part of the book and I'm so happy this never made it. Only decent part is that they followed dialogue word to word if my memory serves me.

I have not and will not forgive Billy Zane for participating in that abomination.

I have to admit...I did like the animation they had at the beginning. It wasn't anywhere close to what I would have liked, but it had potential.

Oh, that was painful. I didn’t watch it when it was released, and I could only get through the first 12 minutes now. The pronunciations were forced and weird. And this sort of “creative license” is what worries me the most, I guess.

Are there any redeeming qualities to it(...)?

Well, I...I kind of like the scruffy look of Ishamael. That's something, right? :look:

Also, I just looked it up on IMDB. The description is the best. "A madman searches for his family and is forced to confront a dark truth by a mysterious stranger." Oh, yesss.

I didn't know there was an IMDB page for it! I'll have to look at it. That sounds like it will wake up my sarcastic side.

As a seamstress I found the costume choices interesting - but sooooo different from what I imagined when I was reading WoT (and not really what I want to see in future film iterations). It was a jarring experience watching it, to say the least.

I am still confused..why Hobo Ishamael was a thing.

Urgh. I didn't even manage to finish the first two minutes, and I am trying desperately to find things to do that will keep me from having to focus on the essay I am supposed to be writing.

Ugh. I finally did it.

No. Just..... No. Ohhhhh I'm so looking forward to the actual series.

Let's see. ANYTHING redeeming. Um. The costumes weren't terrible. Also, I can kind of get behind the way they had the reveal, where we see what Lews sees in his madness first. The dolls lying where bodies are was creative and I didn't hate it. Switching over to the student-film-production-values version of what the castle actually looks like after Ishamael heals him could have been good. The actress who was IlyEna (seriously why would that ever be pronounced Ilyana?) worked for me other than... you know... brown hair for someone named sunhair.

Would take too long to list what offended my eyes but that's some vaguely positive stuff.

Hobo Ishamael

OMG! This. +1.

Can we just seal this crap to the flame and never speak of it again lest some poor new person coming to the series because of the TV show is exposed to it? LOL. *shudders at the thought*

I think this show represents what we all have fever dreams about whenever we think of what might happen to our favorite TV show. OR ... maybe this is a blessing in disguise? No matter how bad the real show is we can always say "Well, at least they didn't do what Red Eagle did..." It could help soften the blow we all take to our hearts if the books aren't done justice on the little screen.

This is what I thought too!

I'd be lying if I said that I liked the winter dragon video but it does not change the series for me.
I'm still excited to see the series. I love of Wheel of TIme so I might watch another Red Hawk video just for the chance to see a Channeling battle scene. I know Aes Sedai can't fight in battle but a Wise One vs Forsaken would be awesome!

They can use the One Power as a weapon against shadowspawn, or to defend their life, their warder's life, or another Aes Sedai's life. So if the Forsaken attacked first, we could have an Aes Sedai fight scene.

There is a fight relatively early on, between Nynaeve and Moghedien ;)
