I've always wanted to travel through Italy by train, I love trains and its a nice way to amble through a country without tiring one's legs :giggle

I'm going to New Zealand next year so that's where all my funds are going, but after that I plan to travel more in general and Italy is first on my list, then Canada where I have distant relatives.

Cynayne wandered through the woods looking for a place to spend another night. Maybe tomorrow the gates would open and let her in to the city, but for now it was getting dark and cold. Up in the sky the half moon was rising. It would be the Day of Repentence back home...

Up ahead in the distance Cynayne saw a glow. Perhaps there was an encampment where she could find some shelter. Her stomach rumbled noisily. Oh, and food. If she had known she would not have been allowed in the city for so many days, she would have packed more food. She walked faster toward what was most certainly a campfire, hoping that her carefully hoarded coin might buy her a place near the fire and a bowl of something hot.

Near an old apple tree Cynayne found the fire, unattended. Certainly, she thought, someone was around; no one would have left a fire burning like that outside the walls, would they? She took a seat close to the fire and warmed herself by the cheerful blaze. A large spider crawled up her cloak, she brushed it off before it got to her hair. At least she would be warm tonight, if the makers of this fire didn't return and run her off. She wondered briefly; where were they? She would have to worry about that when they returned.

It wasn't long before Cynayne realized how bone tired she was. The hypnotic flames lulled her to sleep. She snugged the hooded cloak about her and lay down on the hard earth. Ensconced in the warmth of cloak and fire, Cynayne drifted off and dreamed of Tar Valon.

**watches from the trees, just out of the fire's glow. Catches sight of Satrim lurking above the fire and mimes food. Steps into the circle.of the fire's glow and puts a bag with apples, some bread and cheese, and a small water skin next to the sleeping Cynayne. Waves hand around her, and watches as all the insects move outside the imaginary circle. She'll be safe for tonight.**

**Picks a fresh apple, waves to Satrim, and silently disappears into the darkness.**

*drops from the tree silently and adds a corked bottle of spiced wine to the pile before slipping back into branches above the fire*

*Heading back towards the tower for lunch, Eliza pauses by the old apple tree to grab an apple or two for her fellow novices*

Why is there food and wine abandoned by the fire? who left this here? :tug

Oh! who. . .
*silencing her question as she realises the traveller is still asleep, Eliza is not sure weather to wake her* who can sleep past midday? :look

*forgetting she's due back at the tower Eliza decides to wake the woman and make sure she's ok. Starting at an almost whisper...*

hello?

The sound of a voice saying hello repeatedly in increasing volume woke Cynayne. Shielding her eyes in the bright midday sun, she looked blearily around. Someone had left a small pile of food and what looked like a full skin of water nearby. Cynayne reached for it gratefully, too hungry to question the mystery of its appearance. The voice said hello again. She turned to face a young Novice wearing a concerned look, an apple clutched in one hand. Cynayne proffered the apple.

I'm sorry, is this yours? Is this your fire? Oh, forgive me, where are my manners?

Cynayne stood quickly and stumbled into the small pile of food, which sent a few apples rolling. She chased after them, returned them quickly to the pile and, brushing herself off, dropped a quick curtsy.

My name is Cynayne Nilhonne, I've travelled from Caerhien and I'm hoping to get into the city soon. I found this fire unattended last night and I was so cold and tired. I don't even remember falling asleep. I hope I haven't caused any trouble.

The Novice assured her that there was no trouble, that the tree was a gathering place outside the walls and open to anyone. Cynayne sat and spoke with her for a brief time during which they both remarked on the seemingly magical appearance of the much needed food and water. She took a small knife from her purse and neatly cut one of the apples into small pieces, handing half of them to the Novice, who then made her apologies and left for her duties in the Tower. Cynayne watched her walk away, chewing thoughtfully.
