It's time to ask for bids for the 2018 Euro Parties!

Know a great location? We want to hear about it!

If you would like to bid on a location for the 2018 parties please fill out this new bid form:
Bid Form

Deadline: April 11

Keep in mind that we are accepting bids for either a Conference style party (cabin in the woods with the Tower hosting all entertainments) or a Tourist party (in a location with sights away from our lodging to see and enjoy).

Things to keep in mind when submitting a bid:
  • If your bid is selected, you will be an integral part of the planning. By making a bid, you are volunteering to be the local liaison.
  • Typical events take place from Friday (afternoon) to Sunday (morning), and can be held virtually at any time of year.
  • Conference style events are generally held in a campground/bunkhouse type location. The site should have cabin-like living arrangements, kitchen space for meal preps, and spaces for events like sword fighting, tournaments, and other activities. Preferred site locations would be moderately isolated. We tend to be fairly loud so being 10 feet from a cabin holding a Brownies Meeting wouldn't be the best location, Hen Parties tend to think we're a bit special too.
  • Tourist events are generally held in a hotel style location and in a location with easily accessible sites to see. Traditionally these have only one catered meal that will also need to be arranged by the Local Liaison.
  • Normal Euro attendance is between 20 and 30 people.
  • Conference party tickets tend to be around £75 / €90, for reference.
  • Tourist party tickets have been around €120 / £85, for reference.

Please feel free to send us an email (to euevents@tarvalon.net and events@tarvalon.net) if you have any questions! And happy bidding!

April!? I think I have to do some research if there might be options close to my new home town.

Likewise, love to visit those places. I have a friend who will be stationed in Germany for 3 years. Ideal to make an extra trip too!

Mystica, it's generally not held at hotels. It says in the first post what kind of places: "Conference style events are generally held in a campground/bunkhouse type location. The site should have cabin-like living arrangements, kitchen space for meal preps, and spaces for events like sword fighting, tournaments, and other activities."

With the Tourist events the include is 2 nights at the hotel (or hostel) and 1 dinner, normally at a local(ish) restaurant.

The prices are merely a guide, and can be bent if the right location and venue is on the table :)

ok, thanks for the info. Can't really see anything around here going for those prices unless perhaps if we can give absolute guarantees of x amount of attendees. Which you can't until people have signed on and that happens after securing the hotel. So yeah, bit of a chicken or the egg kind of thing here.

Too bad, would have been nice to organise something around here one day :)

We actually had a party in Belgium in 2013 (Oostduinkerke), conference style.

If you're looking at venues in Belgium, this is a nice one: http://www.beaufortblankenberge.be/index.htm (hotel you can rent for the weekend)
