Tar Valon 2016 Blood Drive!

First allow me to apologize for having been MIA for so long. I am back now, and with me is an update on how we did this year for donations so far...

In 2016 we have donated 16 pints of blood from 3 different countries. There is still time to get a few more donations before Dec. 31st, so if you can donate please do so!

Last year we were able to donate 32 pints from 6 countries. In 2014 we donated 42 pints from 8 countries What happened? I know part of it is my fault for having to be gone for so long and you all missing me as your fiercest cheerleader giving you updates and reminders to donate. I will do my best in 2017 to continue to be here to cheer you all on in our mission to save lives!

I am so proud of our community for making the annual blood drive something we strive to do. Times are difficult and 2016 has been a horrid year for many. Going forward I feel it is important for us to continue to give blood whenever we can. Keeping our blood banks and hospitals full of donated blood is essential to saving those in traumatic situations.

16 pints of blood is fantastic, but I know we can do so much better! Do you all think we can make to 25 pints by Dec. 31st? That's 9 more donations. Put it in your sigs, talk about it in your respective groups. Bring it up in the tavern over a pint of ale. Everywhere we can let's remind our community that blood is a fabulous way to give back and be a Servant of All.

I got my third one in last week - that's as many times as I'm allowed to donate per year (Swedish rules). I didn't expect to be responsible for ~20% of Tar Valon's registered donations. I definitely hope we can do better than that!

We would've been, but the phlebotomists at the Red Cross gave Brandon a nerve injury...:grumble

Oh no! More and more I keep hearing bad things about the red cross. I always encourage people to use a different organization if there is one. But if they're your only option, they're all right enough.

Will there be a 2017 blood drive?

I am scheduled to donate today and was wondering if you would want that recorded?

This is actually something I try and do regularly also and have an appointment this month- I would think we could all help set some records?! If I can help at all please let me know!

We will get a new drive going again soon! Things are just sort of busy at the moment, but keep track of your donations and as soon as the new drive is up be sure to register them! Thanks for your patients everyone!
