So, I started reading this series when I was 14. My aunt let me borrow her copy of TEOTW at the beginning of the summer, and I have been hooked ever since. I still haven't had a chance to read A Memory of Light (really need to get on that), but I found this site while looking up a question I had on the series.

I can't really pick a favorite character. So many have given me reasons to be infatuated with them (love is love ;) ). No two characters are alike, and each one is important to the story.

I am currently pursuing a BA in Anthropology. It may sound cheesy, but my goal really is to better the future by learning about the past. I mean, as we all know, the Wheel keeps turning, and ages come and go, and things tend to repeat themselves.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the great conversations to be had and the great friends to be made! :D

Welcome :) Glad you found us. Anthropology sounds very interesting although I never had the chance to properly explore this area and you are absolutely right, knowledge about the past is very important for the future of humankind. If you have any questions or need help around here do not hesitate to ask.

Welcome, Markus! :D I also started the series when I was 14. That was a long time ago. :brown-blink: I am just now finishing the series as well. I finished Towers of Midnight last night and I'm starting A Memory of Light today! So excited to see how it ends. :joy

Markus, Welcome!

What was the question that you were researching?

I'm a big fan of anthropology. My library is heavy in the subject. I'm looking for more works on the Anthropocene just now, but am still highly interested in paleoanthropology.

Thanks for the warm welcome you guys!

Hello and welcome!

I love seeing new members join our community. I hope that you will make yourself at home. I'm looking forward to getting to know you - I love picking anthropologist brains.

I'm actually just starting out on the Anthropology tack, so I probably won't have all that many answers, but I've been fascinated with the different aspects of Anthropology for a few years now. I think it's amazing that there are others on here that share the same interest!

Markus, Welcome!

What was the question that you were researching?

I like to write in my spare time, and Robert Jordan is one of my favorite writers, so I was researching his writing process and how he got started with WOT. A lot of searches and webpages later, and I found TarValon.net.

Be welcome in Tar Valon, Markus :bow .... It is a great place to be; with many friendly people. The activity is diverse, fun, and addictive! The book discussion forums are pretty good for answers and book discussion. So, feel free to ask away; or share your thoughts.

Then we can learn together. :pleased-1: I have found that there are few better ways of realising that you truly understand something than having to explain it to someone else - and have them understand it as well.

And - oh! A fellow writer. :D There are many of us here, I am sure you will fit in just fine.
