Roheryn ni Galghandhrei t'al'Djinn, you definitely should take a trip, the culture is fantastic to experience. Good food and lots of fun.

Ixialdor Lathanril, that's pretty awesome, you have a few years on me! That's pretty awesome that there are some other military in the community here.

Maibella Rhoiden, thank you! Yeah, having read the majority of the series before, reading through now and making sure I'm not skimming is making it a much more enjoyable read. Seeing all of the foreshadowing for books down the road that I completely missed on my first read through is really neat. I keep seeing stuff and saying to myself 'Hah! That's exactly what happens 3 books from now' or something similar. That's pretty cool that there are people in the DC area, I'm looking at living about that far southeast of the city in Maryland.

Al'Amar El'Haldir, I'm glad I'm not the only new one around! Although it seems you've had the opportunity to immerse yourself in the WoT world a little more than me. :) Hopefully before too long though I've completed my first full read through.

Amarande al'Kalin, thanks! Even without having read the last 1/3rd of the series, I am still finding so much that I didn't see the first time, from the tons of foreshadowing, to the building of relationships that wouldn't come to be until books down the road. I'm really glad I restarted instead of picking up at book 10.

Kyredeon Trevath, I was admittedly probably a little young to have really gotten into the series. My main reason for skimming was impatience, wanting to get the next big occurrence without taking in all of the details the less interesting parts had to offer. Definitely enjoying the parts I didn't have the patience for then quite a bit now. It's almost like reading a whole new series! I'm looking forward to sharing my theories and opinions, I've had years to think to myself about the series without anyone to discuss it with. :)

Lillian O' Neeus, I'm jealous, Tokyo is amazing. I've taken a couple of short trips there while I've been in Korea, but I think it would be amazing to live there. While you're there traveling to Korea is super easy, so I would definitely recommend at least one trip to Seoul. The cultures are similar, but they definitely each have their differences. That's pretty awesome knowing you're that close! I'm currently 6 classes away from completing my BS in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, but I'm taking my time finishing up because I don't really have any plans for separating from the military in the near future, at least the next 5 years.

Thank you to everyone else for the warm welcomes! :)

Welcome to Tar Valon! It's always wonderful to see fresh faces around! :D

I too started reading the books when I was too young to really understand all of it (I was 9). My first re-read as an adult felt, in some ways, like I was reading a whole new series!

My grandparents spent a couple years in Seoul & they loved it! It sounds like a lovely part of the world!

Elanda Tonil, it really is a great experience :) And I totally know how you feel re reading as an adult and being able to appreciate what I didn't when I was younger.

Lillian O' Neeus, I actually re-enlisted right before leaving for Korea for an additional 5 years after my 6 year first enlistment. I am in the Air Force, we have what are called AFSC's, which is the Air Force equivalent for MOS's. I am a 3D072(Cyber System Operations). That is primarily a Server Administrator, but I've dabbled a little bit in everything comm in my time in from Radios to Servers to running fiber. I've been lucky enough to have seen a little of everything being Comm has to offer in my 6 years.

Agoroth,

If you see in the bottom corner of the responses for each forum there is a button to "Reply with quote". The button next to it is to reply to multiple quotes. This makes it easier to reply to different conversations and not have to type each persons name. Hope this makes things easier for you! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions, I would be glad to help you out!

Yeah, honestly I was just thinking more about being space conscious. I felt that replying to multiple people plus what they said would make an even larger text wall. But I'm sure it probably would've been easier to follow.

:eek We'll practically be neighbors! :D I'm in Glen Burnie, which is 20 minutes south of Baltimore and 30 minutes north of Annapolis.

Ah, ok! I'm going to be buying a house in Waldorf. Had to pick somewhere that was far enough outside of the city, but still not too far for a daily commute to the Air Force Bases.

Welcome to Tar Valon...

I am a big "fast reader" too when I get impatient. I remember completely missing one of the BIG EVENTS in the books because I skipped ahead.. I was always fascinated with Perrin's story and completely missed one of the big huge plot points and in a later book was like "wha??? When did that happen!?!?!?!?!"

Welcome from yet more people. It's good to have you here, I can't wait to see you around more.
Say, do you have the full image of your avatar? I'm curious what it looks like in all its glory.

Thank you! Oh, it's not too exciting. :p I spent a long time searching for something I liked and making sure it hadn't been taken yet.

Link didn't want to cooperate and show my picture. :look:
