I haven't decided if I want to read any spoilers :look: On the one hand I like reading the books as unspoiled wholes, but it will be so long before this next book comes out.

I haven't been able to help myself, so I have read this chapter, and listened to another Kaladin chapter read by Sanderson at some event :look:

But yes, I do generally want to read the books fresh, but then I am so impatient for them to come that I want to read whatever I can, and... :look:

I did manage to avoid buying the Prologue for aMoL, but if it had been free I would probably read it. I read some of the other excerpts that came for the other books :look:

I never read excerpts because it drives me crazy not to know what comes next. But I can't wait for book 3. This is one of the best series I have read lately.

I haven't finished WoK yet (I'm about half way there) but I just wanted to throw this out there. Doesn't it seem like they're underwater? Like mermaids only the water left and they adapted to living on land. And then in some other place, there's grass that stays still and dirt! Stationary trees and *gasp* chickens!

There's definitely a lot of things that say "underwater" - the look of plants, animals, the rocks... High-storms could be the cause of it - I mean, with such storms, they do get to be soaked pretty often. :look: I have to say, the setting was not what I expected when I started reading. :P

I'm finishing the second part of book 1 (is it just my country that splits books? :() and I am SO happy that I'll have more to read once I finish it!

Ive not seen these split over here but they definitely do it with others (Song of Ice and Fire, WoT).

When I was ordering the second book, I saw on Amazon that there were split books and one whole book. It was cheaper to get the whole book, but at least now I know why there was split books.

Only 5 out of 14 books of WoT have been printed as whole books, in Serbian. :P Even though it was very much possible to print them all without splitting... I'm not sure if it would be possible with The Way of Kings, though, since our books are almost always printed in the same format. And that thing's massive. :brown-blink:

It is massive. I'm not quite sure how they got 1303 pages in paperback without it exploding or something. They're really stretching the binding, the cover sticks up without me having to read it first. When I took it out of the box, I ended up cutting it (due to the cover sticking up). Then there was a defect in some of the pages.

Witness my destroyal (Is that a real word?) of the book which I haven't even started

Don't worry, I won't let the book go to waste. I'll destroy it a bit more once I'm done with it. I really should stop buying paperback. :look:

Wow, that's so exciting, Satrim!

I'm currently listening to the WoK audiobook. I don't normally do audiobooks, but it's kind of fun to try.

I heard a snippet of a different kind of audiobook for Way of Kings. It was like a movie without the visuals. Sound effects, different character voices, the whole nine yards. I actually didn't like it, because with all the effects you could barely hear what the narrator was saying.

Yes, I can imagine that the sound of wind, or swords can be quite distracting...

Yeah, I've heard of the graphic audio things. The idea is intriguing, but yeah, I think I'd have trouble hearing the voices.
