For 3 meals each day except the feast, especially in Tahoe, I expect to spend more than $75 since I can't live on only sandwiches. So for me, personally, I expect it'll be more expensive than 10th. But maybe I'm just a bigger eater than most? :cheeseeni:

FYI, I looked it up on Southwest.com and the cheapest flights to and from Tahoe, round trip from Louisville is $471.50. Just to give you an idea. So anni, not including food for me would be almost $700. Too much for me, sadly. It happens.

Does this mean that skiing at the Camp's course is included since we're renting the whole thing?

We might be able to go since Lok's flight benefits got upgraded to free domestic flights :)

The property also has cabins and camping available, which we're not renting out. We only have the hotel booked, rather than the whole property, so if there's a charge to use the cross country course, it will apply.

Looks like there's a $7/$12 trail fee for half/full day trail passes.

Will look into flights, prices and such. I have heard good things about Lake T.

Also, a fee to use a cross country course? That is weird :brown-blink:

If I was able to pay after I get my income tax, I could swing this! I mean actually swing it this time :look: and what a long time it has been. :cry I usually get that mid-late February though so we will have to see. I know funds are needed earlier for deposits and such.

I don't think the price is that bad. Sure, I'd love to save, but with it including accommodations, definitely reasonable I think. I figured since it's been so long for me that it would be worse actually. :laugh:

My only challenge is how far is it from the airport and is there a shuttle? or someone that would get me. :D Can figure that out once I know for sure I can go. Honestly, I could use some Tower time, badly!

I believe it's about an hour to an hour and a half from the Reno airport, and there is a shuttle that at least runs to the town, where someone could easily fetch you. :D

(Exact info on time is in either my or Eleyan's posts in this thread. I think.)

Depends on arrival time / departure.. Im sure if folks are headed in around the same time that car pool would be possible..

I think I saw something that said a shuttle runs from the airport straight to the site. I'll look again.

I can confirm that at the 2012 admin meeting the decision was made that Estes park would be automatically selected as the default location every 2-3 years. This decision was based on central location and affordable costs, and the success we'd had with the venue in the past. We felt at the time it was an ideal option for us and that if we had not used Estes Park for an Anniversary Event for a maximum of 3 years that it would be the selection by default and no bids would be solicited.

Based on the information above and previous discussions, I believe this decision was altered at a subsequent administrative meeting. I've not been able to find the notes explaining the details however.

I am super excited about this location! I know that the cost might be high for some, but this is my one and only vacation I get to enjoy with my tower family.

When I stepped into the role here as MoR, I was actually under the same impression and was told that it had been changed. I don't have the details as to when, though.

Welp, I can't find any mention of Estes in the Admin meeting notes in the library one way or another. :brown-blink:

Notes are can find are significantly less specific than Seri is remembering. *shrug* That said, I am certain there was an update that Estes would be considered a "fall back" position, not a permanent place to visit on a regular schedule. I'll look again later for a nice quote. :)
