Re: 2015 Re-Readalong: The Shadow Rising Chapters 50-56
Ah, cool. Been a while since I read the last book.
Ah, cool. Been a while since I read the last book.
(Btw, having a Hero reborn so close to the Last Battle is stupid. Waste of a good hero :rolleyes)
I think it would come down to the intention of the Aes Sedai. If she knows the ditch will be used for war, she probablywouldn't be able to do it. But if she can convince herself that that's not what it's for, she might be able to.There are many ways I think there could be loopholes in that oath, like would an Aes Sedai be prevented from..say digging a ditch that just happens to be in the way of a Calvary charge, she is not harming anyone, it is the Calvary's choice of if they stop before they get to this Ditch that an Aes Sedai just happened to be in the way by sheer coincidence.
It doesn't sound very comfortable to eat lying on your chest.
Hm I think I skipped a chapter somewhere, I don't recall discussing Faile leaving, of course I got behind and had to do a ton of chapters the past week so I might just not remember doing it.
Perrin said something to Faile that she have to go to tell Andor etc in the chapter where they married. It wasn't very clear there.
In regard to people not feeling the Power being used during the Rand/Asmo battle: wasn't that all saidin? In that case, the only ones who would feel it were male channelers. The male Forsaken would definitely have an idea of what is going on and would most likely want to stay as far away as possible. Other male channelers aren't really a part of the story yet. I'm sure there are men all over Randland who felt something but didn't know what it was because they don't realize that the special abilities they have are actually their ability to Channel. Whereas during the cleansing of the Taint, both saidin AND saidar were used; lots of women can channel and therefore lots of women were drawn to the site.
Unless I'm missing something?
Chapter 55
Perrin is sure he's going to his death.
The women in a circle holding whatever they can use as a weapon. Last defense for the children.
And the Tinkers are ready to save the babies if they can.
Then the women are there just as the men need help. The women the men want so much to protect, there fighting Trollocs as calmly as fiercely as the men. And Bode (I think it's Bode)! Getting picked up by her braid and still fighting.
Bloody Faile.
And the Two Rivers run the Whitecloaks out.
