Just finished Words of Radiance last night - can't wait for Skybreaker next year! Such good series!

Oh and estimated release date is July 21st, 2016. You can find a part of the first chapter online already.

The Word of Brandon is 10 books in the Stormlight Chronicles :look:
Just wanted to confirm, yes, the Stormlight Archive series is planned at 10 books. Also, book 3 is not going to be called Skybreaker, it's probably going to be called Oathbringer and have Dalinar flashbacks. (Source; search the page for Oathbringer and Dalinar if you don't want to read or skim the whole thing.)

I was skeptical about Sanderson at first, even after enjoying his WoT material, but learning that his books are mostly all connected in a cohesive literary universe and are part of a larger epic plot was what sold me. I'm a sucker for a unified author universe; it's what led to my owning all of Stephen King and Madeleine L'Engle. :p

I still think he occasionally writes flat dialogue or is a bit too up front with his worldbuilding (The opening of WoK where he carefully explains about the lashings irritated me a lot, since I think we should learn about that kind of thing through narrative with only the occasional exposition scene). But set against those minor things are his genuinely excellent plotting and his way of really dropping a cool setpiece scene into most of the books here and there. I'm sold on him now. lol

Rollyn Gaidin, I didn't know that all of Sanderson's works are related. I've only read the Stormlight Archives so far but I am interesting in his other works.

I don't particularly agree with your opinion of his world building methods. Hearing about Roshar, particularly because of its large differences from many areas on Earth, is one of my favorite parts. As for the Lashings, I agree there could have been a little less about them in the beginning, though I understand that Senaderson wanted to make sure this first glimpse at his world's system of magic was understood.

Not quite everything he's written is related, but I think all of his full-length adult novels are. (His YA and middle-grade stuff isn't related, and only some of his short fiction is.) The Coppermind wiki has a full list of the books that are related, here. I copied it below, but the formatting is rough so it's better to click the link.

I love this epic series. Sanderson is doing awesome job with this project. So many great characters and moments worthy the epic reading. I had goosebumps so many times while reading it. I can't wait for the next one to see what will happen.
Also Vasher and Nightblood were my favourite "Cosmere egg" in WoR.

I've now read the Mistborn trilogy and I'm almost finished with Alloy of Law. The mistborn trilogy was good, but I think I still prefer the Stormlight archives. However, I have enjoyed the Alloy of Law a lot. I love how he's blended the magic system and Westerns for a steampunk-like feel.

I admit it: I cry while reading books!
I will re-read books if I like them but I usually only cry during the first read through.
I cry my eyes out each time I read Way of Kings (Sanderson) and the Name of the Wind (Rothfuss). I don't want to say when I cried (I don't want to give away endings!) but I'm sure that the people who have read the books already know!

My dad hates fantasy books but he read and enjoyed Alloy of the Law because it reminded him of Justified.
