That is a nice line. I like this one, "The fact that the price must be paid is proof it is worth paying."

I like that one too! I finished book one, in three days. How fast do you think I can read book two? lol, I read way to fast, started First Spring on Saturday night, finished it sunday. I have always read fast, then when I went into college, they made me take a speed reading class. Now I read super fast.

I loooove reading fast, and I usually don't miss things. I've slowed down as I've gotten older though. :scratch Not sure why.

I don't mind reading fast, but I have seemed to speed up the older I have gotten. I have tried to read slower so I don't miss as much, but I can't do it.

It is not a line per se, but I always gets chills when Moiraine tells the story of Manetherens fall. Gets me every time.

And I also read a bit fast. Which is why I reread, because then I catch things that I missed the first time around :look:

That is also a great section! I remember when I read Mockingjay the first time. I totally missed someone dying, I knew something happened, but didn't catch him dying.

I read fast, and I don't feel I miss things at the time. What I do find is that I don't always remember things so well - I forget little nuances. Which is nice in a way, because I find them again when I re-read books  Recently I've been listening to the audio books, and I do find that I've picked up on things a bit more, because you're forced to slow down and listen at their pace.

I agree with Aduiavas about the story of Manetheren. That's one of my favourite parts of the whole series.

For me, it's Tam mumbling in his sleep. "The Aiel came over the Dragonwall in a flood..." Oooh shivers! (I think this was also on the back of the book, though it didn't mean much to me there...it's something specific with Tam I guess.) That was the moment when I realized I had stumbled upon something epic and I was going to be totally hooked.

"The fact that the price must be paid is proof it is worth paying."

Amina Coram stole mine :p That line gives me chills every time. Probably because it is applicable both in the Wheel of Time and of all worlds, every where. In my opinion that is why Jordan's work is so riveting is because you can relate to the themes and the struggles even if you don't expect to walk out and see a Trolloc. (Though I know people who could be trollocs...)

I am also a fast reader, especially when excited and enjoying myself. I am on my 5th reread and just caught a massive relationship between Rand and Luc. Duh, how did I miss that?? I need to slow down.

I have tried to slow down and I can't. What book are you on?

Hi! I'm on my 5th re-read of the WOT series a little halfway through Eye of the World. I am forcing myself to go slower this time by reading Leigh Butler's 2009 & 2014 read through along with my reading. So I'll read a few chapters and then read her summaries. I like her, she's sarcastic and got great wit. I want to incorporate the Thirteenth Depository read-throughs, but have NO idea which books shes starts her re-reads with!

Do you want a sig? Go to the Black Tower Fan Club in General. It might also be in frivolous fun; I am not sure. Also you'd have to fight Alyccea over Richard Armitage.
