I agree a bit with you on Cadsuane.
Though, more to her behaviour, I know its normal to respect Aes Sedai. But she takes it a bit to far in my opinion..

Adviendha is still one of my favourites, although can't exactly explain why.
I still like Egwene, but she could've been more supportive of Rand on occasion. She was betrothed to him for crying out loud!

I do agree with Gawyn made some poor choices. I still got some problems with the stuff that happened in the Tower when Siuan was disposed.
What really disturbs me is how the Aes Sedai and Rand acts around her. That other's respect Aes Sedai is okay, because that's how the story is built. Some of it can be explained because of Cadsuane being strong in the Power I suppose, (I believe she is though I've not yet understood if it's in Nynaeve scale or Moiraine scale).

Oh, I have no problem with Aviendha anymore, actually I think she's pretty awesome. She just irritated me in the beginning by being so obviously thrown in to meet Rand. Later that got better because they did not just get together like that (Egwene/Gawyn). I just can't handle when people get into relationships having barely met.
Maybe I will have a more valid opinion on that after finishing the series (Egwene not supporting Rand).

I don't like his choices there either, but I do understand them. I assume that he was told that the Hall had made that decision rightfully and that he thought that he was being loyal to the Tower and his sister, who actually was sent on a too difficult mission all too early, I think.

True, Gawyn did act what he thought the tower would say.
I just find it odd that he would betray his former teachers, and would be a bit more loyal to them...

Yes, exactly my thought. He doesn't trust the judgement of every one of his teachers and, challenges all of them. He acts like he knows everything, yet he doesn't even have any facts to support his decision, just opinion. I am on book 10 now, and there he is told that his sister is with the rebel army. He admits to himself that she may be there by choice, and that she is stubborn. Instead of finding out what she is doing, he just does his own thing regardless of her choices.

Elaida : I could throttle her, simply for the way she acts as if everyone else is wrong and she's right! Berelain always irritated me as well, although Perrin's an idiot for getting himself into that situation. I started out liking Gawyn, really didn't like him after EoTW, but I rather like the way his relationship with Egwene is resolved in ToM. He really does something heroic for once (right after he does something really stupid!)

Hmm, I have a number of characters that annoy me to no end. Some I just want to smack upside the head.

Egwene - I wont deny that she works hard and has her work cut out for her, but there are times I just hate her. One is her lying. True, she admitted her lie to the Wise Ones in the end, only to then give them the proverbial slap to the face by performing a Wise One taboo seconds later (entering Telen'rhiod in the flesh). She also acts like Rand making Aes Sedai swear fealty to him is a mortal sin, while she's blackmailing Aes Sedai into swearing fealty to her. And yes, her constant Rand doubting is irritating (he's handling the situation much better than you).

Gawyn - It's pretty much been said. This guys just becomes an utter twit when the tower splits.

Elaida - Must I say why? I think it's pretty obvious.

Perrin - I liked Perrin in the beginning, but when Faile got captured by the Shaido, he just became frikkin heartless. I mean, he sees all this evil and pain going on around him, and he flat out ignores it. Caring about your wife is one thing, but that is just plain cold. Why would Faile say if she found out?

If I think of more, I'll add them.

I would have to say that Elaida and Sevanna are the ones I dislike the most. You have to admit that after hating them for so long, that their demise was so much more enjoyable.

I think my most disliked character is Tuon. She is always acting like she can own people. I really hate the fact that the Seanchan think they can just come in and take over! And Tuon thinks that the prophecies and signs of this land are just superstition, even when you can see it, but her own superstitions are the only true ones. very frustrating! My favorites are Matt and Egwene. Matt is so hilarious. He tries to stay clear of everything but he just can't. He doesn't let Tuon walk all over him, or any Aes Sedai, and when he makes a decision nothing can sway him. Egwene.. She is a strong female character that I strive to be like. I can only hope to have the strength that she has. She stands up for what is right even when it is difficult to do. When she was captured by the white tower and she screamed at Elaida at her dinner in front of all the Sitters, that was so awesome! I cried so hard, for days, when she discovers the Flame Of Tar Valon. It's been a month and I am still having a hard time reading anything else. Oh Matt and Egwene!!!!

I would have to say that Tuon, Elaida, and Faolaine were the ones that I dislike the most. Each of them carried the "holier than thou" to a whole new level. Then again, I wasn't overly fond of Nicola either and most of the Kin just annoyed me. At least at first. I have issues with their bootlicking

I like Egwene before she became amyrlin seat but I wanted to kick her when she pushed Gawyn away. I understand that she wanted him to treat her with respect and listen to her but I still think that she went about it the wrong way.

I DO hate are Couladin, Galina, Sevanna, and Therava. They are just all so terrible, cruel, and unpleasant!!! Apparently I do not really like the Shaido Aiel...

I agree that the truly HATED characters are the ones that are just cruel and unpleasant on their own!

God I hated Faile and Perrin for most of the books. Actually, I didn't really like Perrin until the last two books, when he finally stopped being so angsty! I could rant about how annoying I found his whining for a long time... oh and how slow he could be sometimes when the answer was frustratingly obvious!

Moiraine was frustrating, because she was so unwilling to be forthcoming, but I didn't dislike her. Sevanna was ridiculous and annoying, but then again, she was supposed to be.

This might be a bit strange, but I actually really started to dislike Morgase for a while when she was traveling with Perrin. Maybe his angst rubbed off on her ;) But really, I understood her motivations, and I think she is really interesting, but I got tired of reading about her dithering in her affection towards Tallanvor. There were some other minor annoyances that other people have brought up, but overall until the last couple books my least favorite by far was Perrin.

Edit: OMG I forgot about Elayne! She's an awesome character, but my god, I was going to throw the book if I had to read her complain about drinking goat's milk and how could she have let Rand do this to her.

I hope there is a GOOD reason for that, rather than a bad one! Hop into the Lucky Fox (in the General Forum) and say hello once in a while. :)
