I have a couple for now that may have an answer I missed)
1) who was the Aes Sedai in white that met with Aravine?
The only one I can think of who was wearing what was Galina, but she should be in the waste. I feel as though there was enough information here but I can't put it together
2) Who was Tinna?
She says she was put out of the tower for "complicated reasons", but seems not to have been one of the Kin

I thought the woman in white was Alviarin. We know Blacks often wear the colour of their former Ajah but I'd have to reread that passage again

Didn't want to open a new thread for my questions. So here they are:

1) After brutal 40 + hours of listening to audio book... my memory refuses to remember even a single mention of Shaydar Haran in MOL. Did I miss it? Was he mentioned ? Cuz I do remember countless mentions of heroic deeds of Bela!
2) Anyone found it lacking that Black Tower retaking was described so shallowly?

The only mention of Shaidar Haran is when Moridin stepped over his body at Shayol Ghul...

Alviarin is with some of the other Asha'man and ends up in a stedding a few chapters later

Shaidar Haran was not killed. He simply wasn't needed anymore.

The Do said something like that Shaidar Haran had enabled (or fascilitated) the creation of the solid blackness that was the DO in the cave.

Tinna REALLY made me wonder as well. Any theories?

I also thought it was Alviarin. She could have Travelled to the asha'man later? Otherwise I suppose Lanfear is a possibility, she can't have been in tel'aran'rhiod all the time cause that's said to be quite unhealthy.

Question. Mat's amulet didn't save him from being killed by Saidin during the battle with Rahvin. How, then, is it of any use in the battle against Demandred? I remember Demandred being surprised by its presence with Galad, so it must have stopped a flow. WTF??

Sorcha, if I remember correctly (can't check, books are in Finland), Rand or whoever whose pov it was during the battle with Rahvin noted Mat lying on the ground, boots smoking (or something) and the medallion hanging out, on top of his shirt. I always thought the medallion wasn't touching his skin when the weave hit him. It could also have been something indirect (weave not hitting Mat but something close enough to cause his death). Not sure, but that's how I always thought it went.

I wondered if the lightning had hit his ashanderei and electrocuted him. The passage does mention the shaft of the spear smoking. Either that or the lightning itself wasn't the woven bit - I suppose it depends on what Rahvin used, but isn't there a weave which kinda... induces the conditions for lightning to occur, rather than the lightning being the weave itself? I could be confusing that with another book though.

Yes, I think that the lightening hit mat because at that point it is not a weave in itself. He could have been struck by lightening naturally, so lightening hitting him could kill him even if it was from a different source. The weaves Demandred put at him were weaves directly aimed at his person, so they melted away.

I asked about this at the signing I attended, indirectly.
The question I asked was if Brandon ever wrote himself into the series. He said he did, indirectly.
The sword is actually Brandon's that he got from RJ's collection with Harriet's permission. He wrote it into the series to represent himself.

He gave him Hawkwings sword Justice I'm pretty sure. (it was uncovered in TGS) Don't have my book on me to double check the description in MoL, but I'm pretty sure I remember that from my read through.

The foxhead protects against direct effects of the power (both Saidin and Saidar)

It doesn't protect against indirect effects of the power, which a lightning strike is. It requires no weave as an internal structure the way a fireball would for example.

It's simply a lightning bolt same as any other.

I have a question.... (I'm in my re read right now) but does any of the scads of information Min looks and looks and looks for ever come to light? Does she find anything worth finding? I guess I'll have to make a list and as I read, make some notes or something.

I have a random question: Do you think Demandred was hacked off when Graendal kidnapped the Sh'Bota and Sh'Botay of Shara as part of her schemes to mislead Sammael? Just thinking that if I'd ingratiated/integrated myself into a culture which was then potentially thrown into an uproar, purely because Graendal only goes after those with status, I'd be fairly irritated :giggle

I do wonder what happened to them. I thiink Graendal was keen to get them back, but I could be wrong on that
