New yet sort of old? (aka HI!)

Before I start posting all willy nilly I guess I'd better post my own intro topic!

I was briefly a member before but life stole me away to the world of Reality and its been so long I'm pretty sure my old account is gone I think I was a citizen? Its been about 2 or 3 years so I doubt if anyone really remembers me since I wasn't super active to begin with ^-^() (I'm starting out with a new name this time around, my old one was Ren Da'Shain.)

To make a long story short, I changed careers, moved a few times, got engaged, filed a whole bunch of immigration paperwork (my husband is Australian and I'm American), welcomed him back to America, got married legally, wedding planned until I was half crazy, got married publicly with friends and family, filed MORE immigration paperwork, *deep breath* and now things are pretty calm lol I've wanted to start posting here again for a while but my life has been all sorts of insane, and has finally started to regain some semblance of normalcy.

I've read all the books except for the latest one coming out in Jan giggle) but I'm currently in the process of rereading them again with my husband who has never read them before. I have a night shift so when I have to sleep during the day, he will read to me to help me sleep and the books I've chosen (because I love them and in my own sneaky way, to get him to read them ;D) have been the Wheel of Time series! He's loving them though he isn't a big fan of Aes Sedai at the moment We are about halfway through Book 3. Reading these books again is part of the reason I made the decision to rejoin this awesome community!

Though I work full time now, in the future once my hubby is able to work (immigration process is such that he can't work until he gets the authorisation) and once we start trying for children, I will work from home. My hobbies include painting, drawing, reading (obvs), singing, gardening, martial arts, soccer, cooking, being a tea connoisseur, and many more. My favorite topics of study are Celtic and Asian cultures, nutrition (I hope to go back to school and get a degree to be a nutritionist), uses for herbs/medicinal plants, religions (specifically like to learn more about Judaism and Buddhism)... and the things I'd like to learn more about include being more self sufficient (making things like soap and other products from home, crafting things I need instead of buying them like furniture etc and well as keeping chickens and goats), Reiki, learning how to play the violin and bagpipes (I have a practice chanter and a violin, just need to get to the learning part lol) and most likely way more things I can mention atm.

Now that I've told my life story basically lol I look forward to getting to know you all here! It takes me a bit of time to get used to being around people I don't know so please don't mind any awkwardness, I'm sure I'll warm up I have plans to shanghai my husband into joining as well as my sister, and possibly my best friend if she ever gets to reading the first book I loaned her We'll see. In the meantime, I greet you all on my own

Also I am going to change my first name since I have been made aware there is someone else with this name (sorry Alyra Sedai!) So bear with me! It will probably be changed to Alora which was my second choice

If you click on a person's name you can choose to view their profile. When you get to that page, there are three buttons along the top, the middle one says "Visitor Messages" click on it and you can send a message!

Thanks Roh Hm....All I see is Activity and About Me, was there something besides clicking on the link in my email that I needed to do? Ahhhhhh lol

Hm... That's weird, I'm not sure why not. That would be a question to ask Tech, or to pose in the Ask the White Tower forum.

It is possible that just like PMs you need to be a citizen before you can VM but I dont think so.:scratch

Ok thank you I will do that! I also just applied to be a citizen so whenever that happens that may fix it I also put in for my new name! It will be Alora Sionn so not a huge change but enough to not steal someones name hehe
